CEL , thrid time's the charm?

Ok, so I've read up on what may cause a blinking CEL and they (the dealership) have given me different reasons. The first time they claimed it was bad sparks, Car worked fine for about two days. The second time they say it was the Coils. Now Monday (1/28/09) will be the third time I've taken my 8 in for a flashing CEL with in a two week period . I guess what I'm asking how much should i trust the dealership (this dealership) that they are actually doing working they say they are?

*Note, CEL starts to blink with I redline under load (in third gear most of the time)
**Note only real mod that might effect the engine is RB intake
***Note the dealership is Russel and Smith off of 610

Take your 8 over to AutoZone and get the code read. I have a CEL on my 8 right now, it's either the O2 sensor or the Cat - 3000K on the new engine so who knows.

I also have the RB intake, I highly doubt it would be the cause, but check all your fittings just in case.

How long has the Revi been on?
How many screens you have in the Revi.......did you take both out?
Also, check those connections, like was already said.
Make sure your plug wires aren't touching each other.
And....like was also said............head over to Autozone and report back on the code.

I'll give you a vote. Wondering since the stealership did the plugs, did they mess up the wires and/or are they touching.

Remember it is very easy to get a misfire cel in the 8.

Just clear it.

If it comes back clear it again.

If it comes back a third time you got a problem.

it's an 05 with around 38k. The RB has been in for about 11 months, with one screen. I think there might have been a misunderstanding, it was a flashing CEL that went away, but every time I go to redline under load it comes back and goes away again. Wire and fitting looks good.

Basically it was one redline a day, the tank was close to full (more then 3/4), and another time it happened the tank was about half full. Does the fullness of the gas tank affect the firing of the plugs/wires/coils?

if you are below .25 of a tank it can cause misfires.. if you do a couple of runs in a row..

Funny thing, I usually do my redline in third gear (that's when I get the Blinking CEL or misfire). Today while going to the dealership to get the car checked out I decided to redline it in second gear (after the engine had warmed up), the CEL did blink thous no misfire. has anyone else had trouble with third gear redlines?
