well I didn't really get a chance to bring it up today as I was a bit shocked at how much installing rotors/pads cost Homedude is more into "tech days" anyway, not so much doing install parties. I might be able to talk to our Audio sponsor, they're much more laid back, very supportive of the cars/club, and would probably jump at the chance to get the shop some exposure and get some guys out etc. The only snag is we would need to bring tools and such as our access to their tools etc. would be limited since they do installs etc. on Saturdays, they're closed on sundays' however so I might be able to swing something there for that day with them, (We'd still need tools though lol)

I'm sure we all have our own tools, so I don't think that will be a problem.

I'll shoot for a Sunday, shop is closed then so it makes it easier to convince them lol. (I'll still mention Saturday though lol) Definitely want to plan this with the thought of making it as accessible as possible, so anyone have a date/day in mind?

I need to get together with a few of you and check out how my transmission is feeling. I think I might need a fluid swap as well. I am south side but willing to travel. I'd like to see some new 8's around town with some cool owners. Canary I haven't seen you cruising lately... unless you put some black stripes on your car???????

Anyway, zoom zoom.

I don't know about that. I'm seeing way too many 8's running around as just drivers. I'd rather people who have them as just a "car" to drive, sell them to tuners... or something. Kinda like when you see someone with a Supra or an RX-7, they know what exactly what they are driving, and that is why they are driving it.

haa...did my own pads rotors..im telling you i got the compressors so no worries...

i couldnt contain myself any longer...i installed the pulley and midpipe last night...

i have...self-control issues...and tools...bad combo...

i'm still down for doing some swapping/work tho...

right now it seems like the majority of ppl would do a sunday thing easier than a sat thing so i would recommend that. as far as the date...that is still up in the air right now its probably going to be based on the location and when it would be availible.

lets keep the options open for now and see what we can get...

the pulley and midpipe made a HUGE difference btw...im still letting the PCM relearn the new changes so i have yet to open it up...but jeez its like night and day...

sweet, well the only sundays we can't ask for our ones that correspond with car shows and such. I had to get the brakes done professionally yesterday btw, they were getting pretty bad and with all the things going on right now I just don;t know when I would have had time to do them myself, and I couldn't wait any longer. They came out great, cost a bit to have it done though. (ugh)

Yeah, when they are cold...no squeakin...after some warmin up...you get minor squeakin...they do stop on a dime tho...and even hot they dont seem to fade...i had an emergency brake situation once dropping from 70 to 0 on mopac and they didnt disappoint...unfortunately the newfound braking power doesnt mean the dumbasses tailgating behind you have the ability to stop so quickly...but this is what the emergency lane is for thankfully...

audioshop is down with doing it, it's about 1/2 a mile or so west of 35 and right of 183. We just need to pick a day and I can coordinate with them etc. They're in my sig (AudioFX) and the website I built them has the exact location via Google Earth http://audiofxaustin.com/modules/googlemaps/
We might want to get a good count of who's coming, doing what etc. I'ts a car audio place, so there's no lift, but plenty of open parking lot and it's in a warehouse tucked behind any traffic etc. so it's not like we'll be out in the middle of everything with cars taken apart while people are gawking etc etc. Take a look where it's at, we can always plan on somewhere else, but at least it gives us a place to go if nothing else can be figured out

Sweet...Just subscribe to this thread...I'll keep it living and get annoying to keep everyone posted on the status so far...

Still open is a location...

Location: SA
So far we have an SA friend that may be able to provide his uncle's shop w/o lift
+Tools (I'm assuming)

Location: Austin
Sounds like an audio shop can also allow us to use the open parking lot...
-Tools (Bring our own)

Sounds like sunday would be the ideal date based on feedback so far...

Still pending is the day of when we would like for this to happen...which we can finalize once we can sort out the number of ppl and location.

Perhaps if we cannot agree to an availible date/time which accomidates <80% of the pp...we could have its "me too day" at the second location to accomidate?

Sorry in advance if I'm simply confusing...It's late...too..much code...

haa haa

Well, it sounds like everyone is down for a Sunday, and is in need some kind of fluid flush. So I'm guessing we need to make a decision fast. How many people are down for this Sunday?

I'd propose the 2nd week of March if we want to do this in austin, shop will be closed this coming weekend for a show in S. Padre, they'll be debuting their most ambitious install to date and hopefully bringing home some trophies too

Welp, I am thinking the transmission fluid and rear differential fluid has never been changed on my car. So I am definatley down to meet up because I don't really know **** about flushing that stuff out... but I'd like to learn and help. What do I buy??? Recommendations on type and amount of each type of fluid?? Thanks.

I'm not too sure on fluids either... Everyone on this boards seems to have something to say about each kind ...

Ok.. lets get the ball rolling a little...

Who's down for Austin? Who's Down for San Antonio?

Austin:
1.
2.
3.
....

San Antonio:
1. Romy
2.
3.
....

I'm actually down for Austin too, but I'm just not 100% on it though. So please copy/paste and add on to where you fit in.

I'm down for Austin. That'll be the weekend after the track event at TWS so I know my girl will be needing some TLC after that.

+1 for Austin here, if we get enough folks interested I'll make sure the shop is accessible etc. on that day (or whatever final day we decide)
