Absolutely! Although coastal sea elevation is smaller than N.O, the winds (if they don't back off) are Andrew-caliber. This Cat 5 can eventually cut a swath all the way to Oklahoma and higher. Be safe all ( you know who you are).

I live in Katy...just west of Houston...I am stuck in Mexico for work, my exwife is a nurse and HAS to stay, and my 4yr old son is on the way to North Texas with my girlfriend. My 8 is sitting in a parking lot at Hobby airport. This sucks. I hope everyone has gotten out. God Bless everyone. At least Katrina did open ppls eyes as to the power of such a hurricane. From what I have seen on the news...most ppl arent messing around...they are getting out.

I came to work today (since I live 1 mile away) and found in a call center for 800 IT people only 15-20 people are here. Everyone GTFO, I am planning on leaving in a bit, I just came in to salvage some stuff at my desk near a window.
