Anyone for a 'private' track day at Hallett on 7/16?

EDIT: Well, darn, the track JUST got rented out today right after I talked to the owner. He called me back just a second ago and said 7/16 is no longer available. We'll revisit this idea a few weeks down the road perhaps; August 6th may be our next attempt at this, and it'll be coordinated entirely through DPE so we can use the site to organize it if we deem it possible to pull off. Sorry to get anyone's hopes up!

Regards,

Phil

hey Phil.. please contact Tim Schuh of the dfw club. I know he is polling his club right now to determine if a day at Hallett or at Motorsports Ranch will occur in the near future.

His email address is : tim@dfw-rx7.com

UPDATE:

Spoke with the track owner, and he will soon fax over a contract to look over. Basically, we're looking at the following pricing structure
15 cars: $250 each
20 cars: $225 each
25 cars: $180 each
30 cars: $155 each

For those who like detail, it breaks down as follows:
Track Rental: $2500
On-site Ambulance/Medics for 10 hours: $700
Nine corner workers at $65: $585
Insurance required for more than 15 cars: $805

The deal on insurance is that it's not required so long as there are only 5 cars on track at any given time. With 15 cars, that would be very doable, so we nix that $805 expense. With more than 15 cars, it's going to crimp our time on track to not have the policy, I think, so we'd be better off to go with it. If the final number of participants comes in the 15-20 range, we can take a vote on whether we want it or not. Sans insurance but only allowing 5 cars on track at a time, the cost for 20 would be $185. And if we ended up with 16 cars, I got the feeling he'd let us run 6 on track at a time on occasion without the extra insurance, so keep that in mind.

Also, in talking with him it seems 'sessions' would be best. It won't be really structured, but we'll just divide up into 2-3 groups and run 15-20 minutes at a time.

I'll start making a list of interested folks tomorrow in the first post in this thread, and we'll see what happens. If you are interested, post in this thread as Hollywood7 did and we'll get you on the list.
