So i bought another rx8, clean fax report and everything..... Its runs really really smooth but i asked the dealer "Why are there numbers written on the intake cover (238)...

They however do not know, could this possible be a new engine?

Do you guys know anything about this?

Just a guess but maybe someone put the amount of horsepower on there for some reason.

I dont have any pics, but its just written on there with a white chalk marker, the kind they put on your car when you go to the tracks...

Lol yea maybe like STL said, maybe the dealer wrote it there to "advertise" ... i dont know. As far as it being a new engine, I'm not sure but I think when you get a new engine they put a sticker somewhere on the car to record the mileage on the chassis (aka the odo reading before swap).
