I see you have a list of activities for this event. for $195 how much actual drive time and drivers education will be provided???

I am very interested in this event and want to make it out if I can find good value in it. I have been out to MSR twice and run both sections (1.3 & 1.7) and loved every minute of it. I would just like a little more information please...

The day, as far as track time, will be used almost identically to an average apex day which means you will get 5-6 20 minute sessions on the track.

A friend and I were both considering attending this event. would it be possible for a two driver car? He has minimal track experience (beginer) and I have most recently been placed in the intermediate group. Is this possible??

It is strongly suggested that you do not share a car, as it there is a good chance you will be in the same run group. If you've never been to our school before, you will start out in the novice group, unless you have a lot of track experience. Once you've been bumped up, and you and your friend are definately in seperate groups, it may be possible to share a car.

Ok, I'm registered, though one question: Is lunch provided with the fee I already paid or do I need to bring cash as well?

Sorry, but as the first time your coming, don't share a car. It's just our policy. As for the amount of rules in the conformation packet, yeah, it seems like a lot, but once you get there it's not too bad. Most of our rules are for saftey. We have a perfect saftey record (no car-to-car contact, or any major damage) and would like to keep it that way.

As for lunch, this is a specialy Apex day, in that Hooters WILL be providing lunch for registered drivers, but only registered drivers.

I had to laugh when the note at the bottom mentioned that some people drop out after half a day because they are tired.... bet none of them have been to our RX8 State events and run with our fast group!

Yeah, we actually had someone dehydrate and had to go to the hospital from heat stroke. And trust me, our advanced guys are fast. Most of them are in race-prepped cars. And, usually in the notice group about 70% of the people run the last session, the rest go home.

Can you post those rules, for us that are not going?
Same rules as in Houston last year? That was the last time I attended that event. too restrictive. Its your ball, you can keep it, I wont play.

Hey, I just got to look at the schedule, and as of now their will be 4 twenty minute sessions. But like I said, it's a special event. Usually there's 5-6 sessions. But your getting alot of cool stuff out of this like a tech session by brembo and lunch (which we usually don't provide).

And as of now, the event is full. You may still ask to be wait-listed just in case someone cancels though!

1. I'd rather not pay to hear someone babble on about products, or anything else for that matter, when I can be on the track.
2. I'm surprised anyone would cancel given your horrible return policy.

Hey, sorry man. I don't make these decisions, I just relay them. I'm totally with you on the track time thing, as love driving as well, but this is our special event of the year. And you have to remember, services are completely perishable.

That sentence doesnt make any sense in this day in age.

You either provide a service and get paid for it, or you dont provide a service and dont get paid for it. (or provide a service and don't get paid)

A service is not something that can be taken away from you, it is not something that can be left on the side of the street to spoil.

Thats like saying that data (i.e. 1's and 0's on computer) spoils. The only difference between the two is that data is infinite, while services are not.

Granted I didn't get into the fact of how well a service is performed and the relative value of a service, but that is neither here nor there.

Your missing the point. Say we have 18/18 slots filled. If someone cancels, and we refund the money, we now only have 17/18. Once the event starts, that slot is not being used and not making us money. So say we could be running 18 cars, but are now running 17, the slot is lost and cannot be redeemed at a later date. But, if you don't get it, I don't need to argue with you.

To anyone who missed it, it was great. Must have been 200 cars. There was a smokin' F40, Enzo, TWO carrera GT's, a Saleen S7, Lambo's, and a bunch of RUF cars, not to mention Hooter's girls.

This is what you should have said the first time instead of services are perishable.

Hooter's girls = awesome; Hooter's food = horrible

That being said, the stomach cramps from the food was worth it based on what I learned today. In fact the brembo break guy wasnt so bad either as it wasn't just about his product, it was about breaks in general, though I would still have rathered to be on the track :P Course even without that lecture still wouldn't have had more track time with there being two novice groups.

Rules turned out not to be a big deal once there and on the track. Though it was annoying getting black flagged for almost losing the back end... even though I didn't. Was funny watching the instructer fuss at the grid boss for a horrible flag call though.

Hey, as a corner worker we don't call stuff in for fun. If we pulled you into the pits its because it looked like you went off and we want to make sure YOUR car isn't compromised. And pulling into the pits makes you loose what, a minute out of the session? And glad you had a fun day, the rules aren't bad once the day begins. Out of curiosity, what car were you in?

Wasn't really annoyed at the fact that I had to pit, it was just annoying that it got called (I'm competitive and it was on the radio). I was the Silver Rx8 in the novice 1 group. I ran over the protective edge with the bumpy things (forgot the name of it). I took the last turn before big ben shallow and the back end swung out a bit. Instructer says I was fine and controlled it, but the flag crew said otherwise (shrug).

I put together a small video for anyone interested...

http://exposureroom.com/members/eagl...48486b85d38ea/

Its a warm up lap (on shots from the dash) so the speeds arent fast.
Footage isnt the best, forgot to clean the windshield and my buddy filming didnt have a tripod. But it still suits its purpose.

The problem is that the audio is REALLY bad. Having to have the windows down made the wind noise unacceptable. Especially at high speeds. I was hoping to convey that when I figure out how to post the session videos I have.
