$%&* the bad luck!!!!

I've come to the conclusion that if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any.

I got my car back Friday from getting the new motor put in it. I drove it for about 15 minutes, and it runs great. I didn't drive it Saturday or Sunday... Then Monday comes.

I was leaving the office on Story Rd, turning on to Beltline. As I was waiting to turn right, I got rear ended by a Mustang GT. I turned right, and pulled over. The Mustang took off. I got behind him and flashed him. He waved me on, turned down 161 and took off. I ran him down and he turned on 114. I was on the phone with the police, and read them the license plate #. She asked me to pull over and wait on an officer. The officer told me there was nothing they could since he crossed the Dallas city limit line.

WTF!?!?!?! I have the guys license plate and they can't stop him? I guess they are too busy giving people speeding tickets or something.

OMG, that is such bull sh*t. I would of been pissed the f*ck off.

Do you have any cop friends that can trace those plates for you? If so, i'll be more than happy to go over and return the damage to the mustang. Please let me know. Afterall the guy did shoot out your windows, and then did poor gasoline in the car and set it on fire, right? Well in that case, i think we should do the same

Sucks dude! Did you file a formal police report? Sounds like a hit-and-run and they have everything they need to track him down. Maybe get a lawyer and sue him for damages plus legal fees. It shouldn't be that hard to find him.

Those police were just lazy. They should have run the plates and transferred it to the police wherever the driver lives. That really sucks about your bumper, but just think how much it sucks to be the other guy....he has to drive a Mustang. You should definitely look into some late night retaliation. Just make sure you park far away and dress so that you can't be identified.

I might be able to help with the plates...maybe. I know a couple of cops (not including my brother) that are in the Dallas area. If I ask really sweet, they might run them for me.

Good information to know, now that we have all learned our lesson. Don't pull over and wait for the cops...chase the car and just make the cops pull you both over after a high speed chase. At least you will know that he didn't get away and you will have a good excuse for getting to drive really fast.

Sorry to hear that Slim. Maybe your luck will turn and you will have good luck from now on.

I have a friend that was in a hit-n-run in Richardson, and didn't stop chasing him until the cops pulled the guy over. The cops were happy my friend continued the chase, and he didn't get in any trouble for the high-speed driving.

Oh, and Slims... since the police are too damn lazy to investigate the criminal manner, maybe they can provide you his information so you can file a "civil" case.

I forgot to add, if it makes you feel any better not only did my car get smashed and acquire hail damage in the same day, I got a call this morning from the bodyshop and they're having to send the car to the dealership as it won't start now. So now it's still not fixed, will never be the same, and on top of all this it's starting to sketch out mechanically, yay next year I'm boycotting April or something, or renting a car for the month or....ugh

Thanks for the info, suggestions, and help guys. I'm really in a bad spot with my car after this. Hopefully someone can help me find some information on this guy. I know there aren't a lot of businesses down the road we were on, so I'm hoping I can find his car and talk to him. I definitely should not have stopped. I can understand why they wanted me to (to an extent), but at this point, I would have rather got shot. I can heal, the car never heals itself!

I would recommend giving the information that you have to your insurance agent, and file a formal police report.

I wouldn't bother talking to the guy.
1 - Press the 5-0 to go arrest his a*ss at home
2 - Go to his home and inflict your own justice.

Hey slim...any luck on this yet? I wish I could have helped more, but my guys say that it has to be in their jurisdiction to run the plates also. Just in case you are really pissed and nobody will help you (including the insurance), there are websites that charge something like $29.99 for a membership to look up license plate information. There is even one that is linked through the Texas state DMV office.

Like this one: www.urapi.com
