i wish i would have seen this first, i just ordered some strakes from mazdaparts, but just aluminuim ones, do you think they will refund me so i can order the chrome ones anyone?

edit: oh well i guess they wont.

 

Received my strakes on 7/7...lucky day indeed! Plan on installing them soon.

 

I finally put mine on this past Fri. What a PITA! I got light scraches/red marks all over both of my forearms. It's just so tight between the fender liners and the fenders.

I just want to mention that only one of the four strakes was in excellent condition (not perfect, but excellent). The other three got a series of small dimples on the outer edge (not perfectly smooth & straight), some rusting on the underside and in the threaded mounting holes. One of them actually has a dimple/dent about 2mm long. Also, I had to put some lithium grease on four of 'em to prevent rusting.

I was gonna ask to send 'em back and get better ones, but I just kept forgetting and putting it off. I was kinda lazy, too. Eventually, I just decided that it wasn't that big of a deal and put 'em on. I'm sure any picky customer would want to send them back. But then, I don't always view the strakes from 10-12 inches away, so it's all good.

I think there could be some tighter QC. Overall, it's still a good product. I do like the shiny chrome finish!

 

Funny I had the same issues with installation. Must be my big hands...

You have to admit though it's an excellent cost/value purchase.

 

Bassy, if at anytime you're unhappy with that imperfection, let me know and I'll change it out for you.

You guys must have some phat phalanges, lol. I was able to change both sides in less than 10mins each.
