I can understand if they just didn't have time to fit it in, but having it at the end of the day seems a bit pointless in a way, and it was too late for my plans with my 9-year old son with me. The parade laps were possibly my favorite part of the trip last year.

The parade laps were moved due to the fanwalk taking place right before each race. 6:45 was the only time that the track could get them in. It was still better than having them cancelled altogether, which would have been ashame if that would have happend, for those who stayed around to get the laps.

In the future, hopefully we can have them earlier.

Wow, I expected the 8 to have around 200 at least. Since its rated at 263 at the crank.

Where, afaik it's 232 at the crank. Down from the original 250. Which was later rated at 238. Then the specs for measuring Hp were changed which resulted in the 232 figure.
Then you have to figure about 15-20% drivetrain loss. There are also variations in the calibration of dynos, even of the same type (DynoJet in this case).

As far as I know, I did at 173 Hp. This is of the 4 cars that I was around for. There was at least one other RX8 that I didn't see and there could have been more.

I believe I was the first 8 on the dyno. I managed 155 at the wheels...I don't think they knew how to set up their equipment for rotaries.

I remember. They didn't know where to find the plug wires or how to turn off TC.

Glad to here it. We are working with Freedom Autosport to host a Track Weekend @ VIR in February 2012.

I'm hoping next year to make it to both Mid-Ohio and Indianapolis. I think Indianapolis will be a cool experience. I'm also excited about the new cars joining the series next year. Ferrari and Audi will be joining the GT class, right?

Anyone know how the discontinuation of the RX-8 by Mazda is going to affect the Mazda teams in the Rolex series?

While it is good exposure for GrandAm, I am not happy about their combinding GA races with one of the NASCAR series. It makes getting around the paddock more difficult. NASCAR isn't use to having spectators around.

Agreed, it is crazy as hell with NASCAR, we're going but don't know if we'll host a corral or not, depends on the track!
