Good Guy - Liberty Mazda (CT)
My car started up yesterday morning, and pretty much immediately died. I thought it flooded, but couldn't get it to fire up...so I called for the flatbed, and they dropped it off to Liberty Mazda in Hartford.
They have a couple techs who are very knowledgeable on rotaries, and for the first time dealing with a Mazda dealership with any of my car issues, I didn't need to tell them what they needed to do. The lady told me what they were going to do to take care ofmy issues. Well, turns out they replaced my plugs, got the new starter (the old dealership I used to go to...Morande Mazda in Manchester...had told me they replaced my starter ~8 months ago....looks like they actually didn't!), and replaced my fuel pump because mine had died.
I'm excited to find a dealership that treats me like they should treat me! And on top of that, they have expertise on rotary engines!
Oh yeah, I had to pick my car up after they closed tonight because I couldn't get there earlier, and when I got in my car there was a hand written apology note for the residual fuel smell from replacing the fuel pump. I didn't really smell anything, but I thought that was a nice, little thing to do.
If you're in CT, I definitely recommend Liberty Mazda in Hartford!!!

good to see. i guess it's worth the extra drive up that way. i've heard the dealership in hamden is good too. milford's dealership is terrible. and selfishly i'm glad this was posted here instead of the good/bad dealerships since i have stopped checking there for CT shops.

I was thoroughly impressed with this place! Finally a good shop! They used to be under a different name, and I heard that the old one was horrible....but I guess the new ownership brought in new people and everything.

and if you're up here getting your car worked on, give me a call and I'll throw some burgers on the grill! I'm only ~15 minutes away from the place

Morande Mazda lost their rotary mechanic about 8 months ago, up until then I know they would have been a great place to go, if you guys need a mechanic in CT let me know because I know the guy (posted his info in the Mechanic section) and he's a pretty decent friend now.

Heres another nice thing about Liberty (my dealership also). I told them I was getting a Racing beat intake, rp supercat, and turboXS exhaust and asked if it would have any adverse effects on my warranty. The service managers exact words, "We're all young guys here and we do all sorts of things to our cars, I would never deny you warranty work for moding your car". Great bunch of people there. They also took out all the spark plugs and wires from a brand new 8 (didnt have them in stock) on their lot to get me going the same day, and at no charge.
