Fluid Motorsports

:banghead:I am sorry to have to Negatively report of the Very Poor customer service experience with Fluid Motorsports, i have attempted numerous times through e-mail asking to return the "Syncro Saver", i purchased weeks ago, through countless e-mails all i have gotten is lip service and am out $140.00, Fluid motorsports=Bad-Guy

dannobre 04-14-2009 09:37 AM

Why? Was it installed? .......

Race Roots 04-14-2009 11:19 AM

The Syncro Saver...He bought it March 12th, he has been having difficulty installing it ever since but decides to contact me April 10th.

The Best part is he says he talked to someone on RX-8 club asking for troubleshooting, But I never talked to him.

I should post the emails.

I already sent him an RMA order I don't know why he is posting this but each his own.

laythor 04-14-2009 11:50 AM

so you waited three days for an RMA and came here to whine? FAIL

Race Roots 04-14-2009 11:58 AM

The only thing that bothered me was that he was never open to any assistance, he only had one thing in mind, every time I tried to help his reply message always resulted in I want my money back and began threatening me.

Go Figure.

GR8T8 04-14-2009 04:31 PM

I did not wait 3 weeks to whine, I worked with the device for 2 weeks, yes i read the forum here (the advice here is for the most part very valuable) i sent an e-mail which some one read at Fluid and waited for a reply when i did not get a reply i asked for a refund so my return period would not run out and simply got "i was doing something wrong", "this is the first i have heard of your e-mail"and i can understand that they may have not gotten the e-mail, i tried every which way to make the darn thing work and gears would grind 1 thru 4th and also in some adj. pop out of gear with trannie "Whine" from the device through the gear shift rod (audible). ended up damaging the clips on the center console (which by the way is about $250 to replace and comes as one piece) I am truly sorry to have done business with Fluid Motorsports. Maybe they should have a phone Number where you could talk to them in person maybe then one would not have play e-mail tag, but the website states they are too small of a company to handle that, and maybe too small of a company to treat customers better. Maybe i am no better than Brice at Fluid either. at least after i removed the "Syncro Saver" my gears went back to normal shifting and no "audible" noises came from the gear shift rod. The final response was they were cancelling my return because of my comments here with the Quote "Good Luck with that"yep good luck people

Jedi54 04-14-2009 04:54 PM

if your RMA was indeed cancelled due to your 'comments here', that's pretty weak.

Although, you were technically in an uphill battle from the start since I just grabbed this off Fluid's website. The part in red is what kills you...

Items may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Please e-mail rma@fluidmotorsports.com with your order number, the item you would like to return and the reason you would like to return it. Once we review your RMA request, we will issue you an RMA number and authorize you to return.

You will be responsible for the cost of shipping to return it to us.

All items must be unused, or test fitted only. We cannot accept any item that has been used, or improperly installed. There is a 25% restocking fee on all items.

The reason for canceling the RMA was becasue of his threats against myself and Fluid Motorsports, usually when we bend over backwards and take a product back we really shouldn't be threatened after offering to take it back.

I don't know maybe that is just me.

I tend to help people with an open mind and who are willing to work with us.

Jedi54 04-14-2009 05:18 PM

Brice: I figured there was more to the story. Making threats is never going to help one's cause.
Besides, sounds like you guys were already making an exception for the OP.

Can't please them all I guess.

Texak 04-14-2009 05:27 PM

well as long as we're banning guys that speak out against vendors... i say ban GR8T8!!! jk jk

:scratchhe

are you talking about the "Lance" guy? If so, difference is he insulted a Mod.
Besides, there's fine print to that rule...
In order to ban a member for speaking out against a vendor, that vendor must also have been banned at some point in the past. (and we all know MM has taken a few 'mini-vacations' :D: )

back on topic...

Texak 04-14-2009 05:41 PM

i know, i watched the whole episode unfold and called him out when he said it... just being provocative. now on with the show. :eyetwitch

GR8T8 04-14-2009 06:02 PM

you all may ban me if you wish to, but the forum is a place to vent ones frustrations and problems where all can learn from and be aware of issues whether it be from my 8 not accepting the aftermarket part or it being faulty, it simply did not work for my car, let all buyers beware of a losing battleif they have an issue with it.

Transam kid 01 04-14-2009 06:53 PM

I'm gunna play a little bit of Devils Advocate over here, just because I kinda feel like we're getting only part of the story from both sides....

GR8T8: You said you put it in and you heard whinning and experienced grinding, but did you ever ask if that was to be expected? Exactly how long did you wait before you sent/received E-Mails (can you show logs)? What is the condition of the synchro saver after installation? What directions did you follow to install it? Was ther problem, perhaps, due to an installation error?

Fluid: You said he only wanted a refund back, but if he is claiming the product did not work as advertised, was he wrong to ask? Did you help to try and diagnose the problem with the synchro saver (is his case unique)? You said he threatened you, but be more specific; did he threaten your well being, your reputation, or simply to post this thread, because a threat is nothing to take likely and the same goes for accusing someone of a threat. It could be considered a bannable offense.

Now, I really don't want to see/instigate another huge bad guy thread, but I would like to see some resolution. Make it simple guys, it seems like posting E-Mails to support your case would be much more believeable than making accusations and having people subjectively pick sides....just post up the hard facts, and let's get this fixed.

dannobre 04-14-2009 07:03 PM

The syncro saver is dead simple to install......but a bit more difficult to adjust it so it works perfectly :) I think the OP needed help to install it properly....

Sounds like he had a difficult time, and broke the console cover as well......

Can't blame Fluid for that......

Transam kid 01 04-14-2009 07:10 PM

There is a good possibility that happened, but the way the thread is going, we will never know because these threads always end up as a "mud slinging" contest and strays from resolution.

....it sucks

They way he came across in the emails was that he was having installations issues, at the point he contacted me he didn't want to hear it and just wanted his money back.

Like Dan said it is really simple to install the challenge is fine tuning it.

No one is here to ban you, I don't wish to, I am here to help.

Willing to accept that help is another story, if you feel you can have no use of the Syncro Saver I might suggest selling it in the Private FS section, I am sure people will buy it at a reduced price.

So, is there a reason why my emails have not been answered? No RMA yet...

Is there a 'law' against questioning vendors? MM gets them all the time.

I'll try the other in the morning...Is the rma addy not maintained?

Texak 04-14-2009 10:03 PM

fyi fluid has ZERO control over the posts in this thread... you are confused. only a mod or OP has power to remove posts here, and that's not something they would throw out.

jsjjr 04-14-2009 10:05 PM

wrong thread..

Race Roots 04-14-2009 10:08 PM

Yeah I have no clue where the RMA email addy goes we should probably revise that.

Texak 04-14-2009 10:09 PM

unless it was unusually aggressive or inflammatory, they wouldn't delete it. i wonder if it was posted in this thread, if it posted at all... might check your posts to see.

jsjjr 04-14-2009 10:10 PM

Cool. I'll re-send to the address you indicated..

Thanks for pointing that out Texak, I completely missed those posts.

Oh brother.. I've already surmised that I goofed prior to your 'great detective' work. This has nothing to do with you....but you may continue to stir the pot.

that's class.

btw i love how you edited all the posts that pointed out your accusatory mistakes but the one that tried to make me look like a nosy ass.

chrism 04-15-2009 05:28 AM

there were no mod deletes in here.....and like takid said lets keep to the facts.....the other thread was rediculous....there was flaming, politics, personal attacks and attacks on mods....thats why there were bans....you know me i seek the truth and i try my best to be fair

The only part that was not valid was my questioning of a deleted post in this thread.. My other question of why my emails for an RMA were unanswered by FM was valid and as you so eloquently pointed out.. was a miscommunication (sic). That works both ways. FM's website shows a different email addy than what FM's rep here is saying my request should have gone. So you see, misscommunication works both ways. Again, this posting had nothing to do with you...

I can not speak well of them, they do not want to send me my order, I had to break their heads to send it.

then, shipping costs are too high!

Francesco

StealthTL 04-15-2009 08:41 AM

they do not want to send me my order, I had to break their heads to send it.

Let me translate that -
They didn't want to send stuff to Italy, but you moaned and pleaded until they agreed, then you whine that shipping (TO ITALY!) is too high?

What is the word I'm looking for? Ritardato?

bse50 04-15-2009 09:00 AM

Chill out Stealth, Ritardato is more of an insult here than it is there :)

Francesco maybe isn't the best english speaker out there so please let me tell you what happened.

For what he told me he ordered something that they accepted as an order.
Anyway after they took the money off of his credit card they told him that it might have taken more than 10 days to ship.

This is not a big deal, the problem is that he had previously contacted them asking that product's availability and they answered that it was in stock so knowing that it would have taken 10days or more AFTER this confirmation and after the deposit sounded incorrect to him.

Anyway Fluid immediately shipped out the package after he contacted them 4 days later, and that's a good point in my opinion, while the upper points are not, still in my opinion.

Another thing is that paying 295$ for an AEM is ok but 125$ of shipping is insane.
Agreed that we live abroad but, even via FedEX, prices are way lower. I know that because i paid something like 80$ for a mazdaspeed intake shipped via fedEX some months ago.

I think that's it. Some incoherencies (is it right?) after they said that the item was in stock and a bit too high shipping price.

Sorry for the long text :)

Giorgio

StealthTL 04-15-2009 09:07 AM

Ritardato - that just means 'late' right?

Does the $125 include Customs fees, export documents etc?
You gotta expect to hurt when trans-atlantic shipping is involved.....

bse50 04-15-2009 09:11 AM

Stealth we usually pay our customs after we receive the boxes here directly to fedex. I know that because when i received mine i paid around $80 of shipping and then custom duties when the filter arrived.
"Ritardato" here means mentally retarded and is considered a pretty serious offense anyway. Just to make things clear, i'm sure that Francesco won't take that as an offense :)

He purchased thru the site for one, so the fedex calculator takes care of that I don't have anything to do with how it calculates shipping.

Number 2 I had 7 orders go out in a matter of a week so when he did ask it was in stock, I cannot help orders come in faster than I can stock them.

Once I realized I didn't have enough for stock I ordered more, shipped out 2-3 days later.

the problem being in this case is its not adjusted perfectly, its either too sloppy and not doing anything or too tight and hosing your tranny (which sounds like was the case)

doesn't sound like the original poster was aware of the horrible downside of it not being adjusted just right... :eyetwitch
