I kept the second kit.
After Ray and I decide on some final kit parameters, I'll sell it here.

All I can say is that I'm sorry about all this issues with paypal and the buyer...
after 1000s of dollars worth of transaction, I got ripped off by some F*ckhead in France last year. I found out he was selling same parts to 3 other people.. and it wasn't until I posted that I bought the item, the other buyers contacted me.

I paid via paypal and less than 24 hours later, I wanted to stop the payment.. But unfortunately, paypal told me I had to give 20 some days til I could file a dispute. Which I thought it was a complete BS, even after 3 of us contacted paypal with exact same story about the seller!!!

after 20+ days, we filed the dispute and the F*cktard Frenchy took the money out of paypal and took off! Paypal then tells us that we will only recieve when fund is in his paypal account! Quite the BS!!!

Luckily, I disputed via my Credit Card and after filling out forms after forms, I got my $500 back thru my CC. And when my CC filed a dispute, they put an easy close this dispute button. I was furious! All in all, took me 6 months to get my money back..

I know there is no real way of avoiding this kind of BS... On my site, www.RotaryCarClub.com Ive implemented iTrade rating where seller and buyers could give feedback. I started that site because increasingly, there are too many f&cktards trying to rip people off and wanted to take action in reducing such problems..

Didn't see this before now, but just had to mention.

Our (Norwegian) customs is SLOW because it's undermanned and because everything with a value over $35 you have to pay VAT and customhandling fee. Needless to say, there's a few items to declare I can understand this guy's wanting to have a lower value, but the fact is that you only insure it for the value, there's no way in hell I'd recieve something costing 5500 dollars insured for 20

I think it sucks to see that you guys have to think twice about shipping stuff abroad because of this though. I actually ordered the Accessport to be sent through a courier that forwards stuff to Norway from the US though, easier for you and me basically. But can't use them if people require shipping address to be billing address.

I can see both perspectives. From the buyer's perspective, not receiving a $6000+ product would send most people into some sort of panic, especially if the buyer is a noob. From the seller's perspective, it seems to be about fending off the buyer's panic, defending reputation, and not losing money on the deal.

It really sucks for both.

USPS is not to be blamed either. Customs probably has it and it will be there for a while before they contact the buyer after assessing duties for it. It can take weeks. I'm quite familiar with foreign shipping logistics.

Jeff, when you filled out the EMS form, have you ticked the box that requests package to be shipped back to sender on non-delivery?

I believe that if the buyer refuses to pay duties, customs will either keep it/trash it, or send it back if the sender ticked that return box at the shipper's expense.

The fact that USPS says it's in ACTIVE shipping status means that it's probably in customs. Have you checked tracking info for EMS?

I sincerely hope it works out well for both. It will take time.

At this point, the package is gone.
It appears to have simply vanished.
So has the money, so I'm back to square negative one.

That sucks.
If the package vanished, then the said insurance can be claimed, no?
If the buyer picked up the package, it would show up in the tracking manifest as delivered I think.

I'm not sure this may work, but if you'd PM me the EMS tracking number I can attempt to do a reverse lookup on the Korean Post office side and see if that yields helpful information.

Let me know if there's a way that I can offer assistance.

Saved yourself in the last minute

No but seriously, it sucks that dishonest people make vendors second-think international deals. If we were to just get our parts in Europe our cars would be pretty original.

In this case, guess we don't know if the guy was dishonest either, but looks fishy.

Damn I missed this thread.

that sucks Jeff, now I think I should get AP from you ASAP, just to show my support to one of the best members here (but I gotta check my bank account too, lol ! spent like nutz these few months)

I sell stuff on Ebay and honestly, PayPal sucks, BIG time. Google checkout is wayyyy better. but yea you should just take wire transfer for international orders.

Those sketches are classic, always makes me crack up seriously :D But when I was young and came to Denmark on vacation I remember it was ******* puzzling that I couldn't understand ****, it was so easy to read I guess it's the speed that does it + the numbersystem, but I've learned that now, finally :P

It is odd though, the directions that the languages took, as ours was based on Danish many years ago, heheh.

If you want a REAL etymology lesson, go learn Icelandic!
All three of our languages come from that root. Damn Vikings!
Þetta er sjálfsagt.
