Bad Guy: MM (Jeff)
 
I paid for a Cobb AP on the 23rd of March and was told my Jeff that it would be shipped to me by the 1st of April. Its now the 10th and I have not received any tracking numbers from him, or for that matter any response to pm's and emails I sent him. This is regarding the actual unit, not maps.

So far just about every vendor or seller on these boards has fucked me over in some way or another and its beyond fucked up.

Macius8, he just got one and she isnt fully in the loop yet. She is working very hard to be so and is organizing and communicating with as many customers as possible.

You have to understand MM is very busy. He also does not have the Cobb AP on hand. When he receives your payment, he orders it and it gets sent to him then he ships it to you. At this point you are probablly thinking "Then why don't I jsut buy it from where he gets it?" Well, heres why. When you buy it from MM he will custom tune for you for 6 months. If you buy an AP from any where else you pay the same $700 and then you have to pay another few hundred to get it tuned ONCE. MM will tune and correct your tune until you get the best possible outcome. He has hundreds of customers and hundreds of tunes that he is working with/on. He just got an assistant, so things should be getting much much better. Now stop having a hissy fit, wait the extra 1-2 weeks it takes to get the AP(since he has been away on buisness for a week or two) and calm down.

Before making this thread, did you talk to Hund? Probablly not, maybe you should.

doesn't Jeff quote 10 business days to ship your AP? MM is out of town, if Cobb sent him your AP, it's not exactly going to magically ship itself to YOU.

Apparently people dont realize that once you get the AP, your car doesnt turn into all it can be. The AP has a universal tune for your model rx8. Then you have to drive X amount of miles blah blah blah. So, even if you got it, he is out of town and wouldnt be able to help you any way. I love how if you say everyone fucked you over. Someone who has a life and a job and is helping 300+ people by sending them custom tunes for their 8 by himself deserves more credit then what you are giving him. Yes, it hasnt been shipped yet. No he is not fucking you over. If I was MM, I would see this post and always make you low priority for bitching and making a Bad Guy thread without trying to contact him or his assistant to find out what the situation was. Its ignorant people like you who give good guys bad names.

When you pay for something, you want answers on the status. When I spent $1000 with Fluid that fucker told me that everything was there ready to ship. 4 weeks later he still hadn't done anything with my order.

I have all the pm's saying what Jeff told me, and yes I did contact "Hund" about this days ago. I bought it back in March so I could get things ready for my trip to Cali for a month. Since it was to be here around the 1st, that would have given me enough time to take care of it. I leave monday for a month. I was hoping he could have sent me the unit and I could get him the logs so when I returned from my training in May they would be ready.

The only seller I have had a good experience with is CRH. He has even tried to help me out with this matter.

Indeed... Just be patient man. Look how many satsfied customers he's had on this forum and listen to yourself. I've never dealt/talked with the guy yet. I too am waiting on my AP, my first purchase from Jeff. It's not the end of the world dude and it definately doesn't revolve around you.

When you are a high strung person in the military, and you are use to certain things,you'd know that when people don't follow through it creates more tension. Im just about out the door to Iraq and I have a long list of things that need to get taken care of. The car for instance is being driven from Seattle, WA to Detroit, MI in a few months for storage and care.

One thing that was planned on being done was this tune, and have it done months prior as if something comes up it can get fixed. I also mentioned this to Jeff before ordering.

You all are killin me, LOL. If this were any other vendor/seller you would be agreeing that the OP shoudl have at least been extended the fuckin courtesy of a replied email. I dont care who the hell you are or where you are traveling, you ALWAYS check ur email at least every 2-3 days. BUSY? Who the hell cares, everyone is busy, just a single response of the status would have done it, it takes 2 freakin minutes. But no, when MM is the one on the other end, all of the sudden everyone else needs to calm down and shut up because he's busy?? Bullshit.

......and the answer is that you wanted the extra value that comes with the MM sale, so you will play by his rules (or demand a refund and be 'happy') but you can't have it both ways.......

After speaking to Mister Maniac. It has come to my attention that you need to send him an Accurate Address that UPS will ship to.
The one provided is not working with UPS. Now he can just send it to Ft. Lewis C/O General Delivery and you can hope for the best. But that would be through USPS.
So my suggestion is to get him an address that UPS is able to ship to.

I did send him the address. Its the exact same one that I used to get my coils from you and BHR.

Right but I used that same address to buy a computer from Amazon a few weeks ago and it was shipped UPS...no problems.

I suggest you just get a refund and buy it direct from someone else. Then just get it tuned to your car. Then not only do you get a tune, but you get to see what HP your car actually has. :)

If you know anything about Jeff, his products and his service time turn around, then this should be of no surprise to you. You are not paynig for speedy anything and instead have sacrificed quantity for quality.

If you didn't know, now you do and next time you should research before you spend your money and expect instant results from MM who has hundreds of customers, that he is taking care of at no additional charge. You are in line with the rest of us and if you are not ok with it then stop complaining and get out of line, so the rest of us can get our tunes quicker!

edit - hopefully Jeff doesn't get tired of a few people complaining about his poor customer service skills and continues to provide the RX8 community with free tunes. Other wise we will be like the Mazdaspeed crowd and their failed support by COBB.

unlike USPS where they just input the zip into their computers, when you send via UPS, the address needs to be in the correct format that is in the database. if not, they give you an option to send but warn you it may be un-sendable. so I wouldn't call BS too soon.

Though I do agree that if that was the case, it shouldn't take as long as it did to get a reply.

I really like how this board is here to "help" other people with their cars. This section is to let others know of problems that people have with sellers. I don't understand why people are making MM to be a fucking God. Sure everyone makes mistakes, and travel comes up. I made this post to to get answers and everyone has to put in their 2 cents that doesn't even matter. There is an issue, and I took care of everything on my end.

If this were another seller in the same situation, everyone would almost agree that there are issues here, but because MM can do no wrong...im the bad guy here....wtf?

As far as I know, no one has ever purchased something from Jeff and NOT gotten it. (might have been delayed but eventually it all gets worked out)
