he offered to send me the rear lip and give me a refund through paypal. Then inspect the lip once it arrives at which point I could send him the money back

Well I have no choice either way do I? If I recieve it great. If not, his ( or his girlfriend's) paypal account is f*cked. I don't want the money and the part. I want the money OR the part. I hope he comes around and tries to send it.

Paypal said I won the claim and that it transfered the money back to my paypal plus credit card yesterday, but I guess we'll see. I dunno how that works because I had a zero balance on it already. Anyone know?

It won't break my heart if I don't get the part. My father and I might be building a 74 pontiac ventura with a 455 in it so I could just spend the money on that.

On another note: did you get your refund jones? I mean if I got mine shouldnt you have gotten yours?

 

Nope i didnt get anything. (i paid straight from my bank account through paypal, i dont have paypal credit account) He has to have enough $ in his account to cover ALL claims. So, if he put just enough in there to cover yours then im (and anyone else involved) SOL until more is put in there. And i think he's tryin to wiggle out of paying my $ back as well, see below....

I just recieved an email today from paypal saying that Brian just notifed them that the bumper was picked up and that i have it, looks as if Brian failed to let them know that the bumper was "not as described" and it was damaged all to hell and that he STILL owes the money. Seems to look like he thinks because i have the bumper that Paypal will drop the claim against him. Oh how he is so wrong as i replied to Paypal with a link to this thread as well as link to the recent emails he sent me promising to refund my money through paypal. I guess its just more waiting....

 

wow i just read through this and realized i met this guy a few months ago at a gto meet in pa, before i got my rx8 and remember him saying he got a veilside bumper for free that was damaged. that sucks sorry about what happened.

 

update: I officially have a negative balance on my credit card so I got the money back. Finally.

I was just notifed today that Paypal wont pay me a dime because i had the bumper picked up and it wasnt shipped by the seller.

So the money he put in there that he thought was to pay my claim, likely paid yours. He has told me he is going to send me money order for the reimbursment so we will see it if that happens or not.

Im glad you got ur money back at least. I will remain optimistic for a lil bit longer...

 

Just stumbled onto this thread. I too purchased a part from 06Carbon8 via PayPal just prior to his "accident", and then received this email on 3/14when I asked him where it was:

I'm very sorry I wasn't able to send the bracket. I just arrived home from the hospital today. I was involved in a pretty serious accident on the highway my rescue squad covers. Sorry for replying so late tonight, I got home around 4 and immediately went to sleep. Some of the stuff I'm told i have to take is doing a number on me being awake. My fiance Lindsay made a post and an account on the forum to try explaining to everyone because I was in the process of shipping a bumper to another member from texas. Please send me your phone number and I will try my hardest to get it out but if I can't get it sent out by the end of friday I will call you and refund your money. Mine was just a $25 front license plate bracket so it's no big deal. I went ahead and bought another one. It is a bummer when people get burned like this.

well since it seems friends of friends of friends are coming on here to post random ****, so i guess i'll chime in too.

i met him a few times at meets at njit, so does that make me qualified to judge him? nah. but it seems pretty ridiculous that now people are "out to get him" or something. from what i see on here, he did some pretty fucked up stuff, and i'm prolly not going to talk to him again. but...it does seem like he's trying to rectify the situation as best he can. if i was in your place, i'd be plenty pissed but i guess if he's slowly trying to get you the money back that's all you can hope for. i dont know why he's not on here trying to explain to people, i sure as hell would be. who knows, maybe i'm completely wrong and he isnt doing anythin to refund ppl. but i say if he gives the money back, then let it die. just dont buy anything from him.
