Minnesotans are a little more courteous on the road. Minnesota has a larger % of 'vanilla' type cars in general so the driving style is more tame to match the owners. I'm not saying that they're no auto performance finatics in Minn.....but you are less likely to see a brand new Vette parked in a trailer park in Minn. In MI cars are much more important in terms of status which probably comes from the 'Motorcity' heritage, so you see a lot high-end cars in relation to income. It's actually quite rediculous to see $75K Rovers parked in the driveways of $40K homes in Detroit.

Back on topic.....The cops are more strict in Minn IMO....but it depends on the area. I think the hwy system in the SE part of Minn (which is where I grew-up and visit) is really confusing to non residents. The one-at-a-time on ramp system sucks IMO....but I understand the theory behind it.

$40K is a 1,000 sq/ft house in the city of Detroit. You could definitely not find anything for that price outside of the city. But you're right, it's completely moronic to have a car that costs more than your house. Sadly you see it often here in MI.

The driving is a lot of fun for those that like speed and somewhat aggressive driving. Anyone who is a bit defensive or timid behind the wheel might find it stressful.

Just about everywhere in the Portland area they have those ramp lights, although they aren't on 24/7, just throughout several hour chunks of the considered high volume times. I noticed that these times actually vary depending on which ramp it is, too.

Where is a cop when you need one. They should have been busted.

Well I live in the exact area that that video shows (you can actually see my apt complext for about 1 milisecond). Given the time of day and traffic levels there is little chance they got up that fast at least on the video. I can backup the comments about Detroit drivers as the exact route these 2 took used to be my exact commute every morning only leaving out the part from my loft to the freeway and freeway to work (total of about 4 miles).

You see people driving like this every day so it doesnt surprise me to see it at all, as a matter of fact I was walking my dog and watched 2 LR3's going approx 80-90mph down a semi-main road where the limit if 45 (Rotunda Drive).

I dunno about that. If you imagine the prevailing speed of traffic is 70mph or so, how much time would it take one of these 500+hp cars to accelerate from 70-140? No more than ten secs I'd say, maybe a little bit less. I think there were enough gaps in traffic for quick spurts up to those speeds.

this might just be me but i did not see one dangerous thing happen in that video once. What is the point of having a $300,000 car if you can't have a little bit of fun in it. If they did get pulled over the cop would have probably asked for a ride in it.

So if you have a $300k car you're entitled to drive at triple digit speeds? I guess people who are rich and can afford expensive toys are above the law then.

According to an issue of Motor Trend that I have the Z06 is a little over 300lbs lighter than the GT.

Looks to me like what something I see crotch rockets do all the time.

I almost hit one once, because he was going so fast after I checked my blind spot,then my mirror, and put on blinker and started to merge he had come out of nowhere with a pack of bikes following him going a minimum of 140 at night on a busy highway. I truly believe I missed him by inches. He almost died that night, not to mention I could have died.

Stuff can happen fast, especially at those speeds.

I drive fast sometimes, but not stupid like that.

Dumbass in the GT. Ford has the correct wheel width, but the 234/45 18 is WAY too small. The braking suffers. 255/40 18 is far better.

There is nothing wrong with driving fast and polite, but these guys were not polite. (the pickup was getting over, don't be an idiot, and extra second of flooring it will makeup the time)
