It blows me away that vans and trucks are cool but sleek hot rod wagons are not.
Well have to remember there havent been many wagons in awhile that looked great. The Magnum to me was a huge gamble for Dodge but it paid off big time. Other car companies only brought their wagons over in small numbers since they already sold great if not better in Europe. If this supposed Mustang Wagon ever comes about I see it being brought to Europe first if anything. That and keep in mind that most people buying Minivan's are mothers who dont really care about performance.. just space and comfort for their groceries and kids.

I agree that a good wagon can be better than an SUV or Van from a performance, aerodynamic, and center of gravity point of view.

The problem is making a good looking wagon. Of course, you would think car makers would figure it out. Funny that they can't get their act together.

Its not really looks since the Magnum looks pissa.. its more they need to dispel the stigma of the station wagon first. Again in Europe the wagons sell great, they dont have the stigma we have of the wagons. I'd imagine they like the feel/drive of the wagons over the SUV's. All the US automakers need is to pump out more aggressive looking wagons possibly more orginal ones rather than turning one already establish make into a wagon (like this thread is hinting at). Its fine if they use a frame already being used but dont just turn a Mustang into a wagon.

Question for everyone.. has Ford ever put out a "cool" looking wagon at all? Just curious.

Trucks are for morons with self image problems. less than 10 % actually have stuff in their beds EVER during their road life.

There is nothing good about having average people driving trucks.

Yep, like me, with my Subaru wagon that is a lot faster (in straight line) than my RX-8, and can carry a lot of crap from home depot in it.

All the time internet geeks harp about how they can haul **** from home depot in their ghey trucks, and on the road, you see one truck out of 1000 with any **** in the back at all. Even funnier are the yuck yucks that remove or leave down their tailgates thinking they get better mileage, when they actually get worse mileage

Truck owner who doesnt use truck for work = stupid.

Wagons are making a comeback in the US. They're called Crossovers. Whatever you need to call it to make people feel better about buying them it's still a wagon. Perfect example: Cadillac XRS. What is it...a station wagon. What do they call it...

Crossovers are jacked up cars or reallly, lowered trucks. They handle like ****, but almost all americans don't ever notice.

I wish wagons were making a comeback.
