Let me start off by saying I have a 05 GT with less than 19k on it. Well, over the weekend I have been hearing a loud rattle noise coming from under my car but today was the first chance I had to do an inspection. I was thinking it was the heat shield over the cat vibrating...since I have seen several posts on this before. Well as I did my inspection I noticed the trans heat shield or bracket (if that is what you call it) was really loose. It looks like four bolts hold this thing in place....well one bolt fell out and two others were on there way out. There was only one bolt holding the damn thing in place. WTF Mazda....have you guys ever heard of loc tight...you know the green sh>>>> that keeps bolts from coming loose. I have been lucky as far as engine or trans issues (knock on wood) but hell if the rest of the car is going to fall apart what is the difference.
