Hats off to SSC - that was an amazing video. I've had my 2000 ST1100 motorcycle up to "ST nominal speed" in W Kansas (coming back from WeSTOC) and I thought the wind was going to rip my faring and side parts apart. (on the SSC video) I saw and heard how much air was moving past - amazing that they kept the car on the road. Truly amazing. The other part is that it truly takes a long time to get the last 20% of the maximum speed due to friction/resistance.

nominal - divide by 10

Yes an amazing run. I wonder how much of the seven miles of road they used up , and if there was a safe braking zone they could not safely ran past .
