I switched from an "8" to a "C-6". Both are fine cars but the C-6 is just more car all around, but for 18 grand more it should be.

I have no Idea what you are talking about cuz the new supra and nsx are 3 years away and the 7 will probably come next. I'd take a used nsx/supra over a vette anyday.

the RX8 and Vette are two different cars aimed at two different markets. I don't think they should be compared to each other. In Canada, you need about 85 large for a Vette and only $40,000 for an RX8....big difference.

I think the only people that have problems with the RX8 are the people that want it to be something it isn't. I bought the car fully knowing what I was buying and was perfectly happy with it.

Tho GM have come a long way in terms of build quality etc.. your right not really up to par with mazda or japanese autos in general. But much better than the old days.

Another thing is corvettes even newer C6's are sometimes like mustangs, nowdays you see em everywhere. Dont get me wrong C6 vettes are very nice cars and although priced more than an 8, its still a pretty good price for what you get.

Peace

then in another 5 years there will be another car, then in 2 another one then in 2019 there will be an rx10 with 1000 hp that gets 40 mpg...

why wait when you can get a c6 now, thats all the guy wants. no shame in that.

you're right no shame in that at all. But I suspect that he posted because he wanted to hear opinions from others. My opinion is that I would rather have a 2000 NSX than a vette. It's more reliable, better mpg, less common, better handling and does mid to low 13's.

who said it wasn't booming? Greddy has one of the forum members cars splashed all over their ads and they are in every single magazine I looked at the other day (except for stupid street, they lost me forever). There's a tom of places online that sell RX8 parts, there's a plethora of kits, accessories, wheels, whatever and even a few turbo options now. Lately I've been snatching up magazines to help me find wheels and without even realzing it a large majority of them have featured 8's or have featured Fds and how the 8 has brought us back the rotary etc. (www.tprmag.com has an excellent article) And even if it's not popular with the "tuner crowd" most of us who bought it don't give a crap anyway, the tuner crowd is the same "crowd" that brought us big *** wings on fwd cars and 10grand ugly *** body kits on 1000 dollar cars, not to mention the whole idea that "nos will smoke anything dawg". I'm glad it's not popular with them, if it was then I might have to get rid of mine.
The real tuners such as the ones that live overseas and such dig the 8 and love the rotary and that's plenty good enough for me. I am optimistic about the future of the renesis, any true car lover should be as competition only makes things that much better for the consumer.

cool- I'm not sure the 2000 nsx is better handling than the c6 though is it?
I'm also not sure a 5-6 year old car is more reliable than a brand new one with warranty. Also, i think he wanted that power and torque feel that only 400 horses can get you.

The NSX is a true Mid engine sports car. It is the most reliable sports car ever produced. It's all about power to weight my friend. the NSX is lighter and more aerodynamic. Comptech also has a supercharger kit that will give the NSX ferrari #'s.

Let's see here:

2005 JD Power Initial Quality Study (1st 6 months of service):

Chevrolet = 127 problems/100 cars (4 other GM brands did better and 2 brands did worse)
Mazda = 149 (this is worse)

2005 JD Power Vehicle Dependability Study (36 months of service)

Chevrolet = 232 (2 other GM nameplates did better and 4 other did barely worse. GM as a whole outperformed all Japanese companies as a whole except Toyota and Honda and all but 2 Euro companies)
Mazda = 252

Now it is time for the closed minded know it alls to give your excuses.

I'm not. The RX-8 is better than a 400hp C6 because GM sucks and Greddy is making a 300hp RX-8 now. RX8 Club rules! :p

Really? Because according to JD Power's 2005 Vehicle Dependability Study (36 months of service) the 3 most reliable cars in the same class as the NSX are:

1. Porsche 911
2. Honda S2000
3. Chevrolet Corvette

Power/Weight don't mean squat in handling or braking but I will go ahead with your bit:

Car............................Power............We ight.....................Power/Weight
2005 Vette...............400 hp............3179 lbs...................0.126 (bigger is better)
2005 NSX.................290 hp.............3153 lbs..................0.092 (27% worse)
2006 Z06 Vette.........505 hp...........3132 lbs...................0.161

The Z06 is still lower cost than an NSX.

Basically everything you have said is false.

You have to be outta your mind to think that JD powers is accurate. As far as weight you got me there but vettes come in a heavy convertable trim aswell. In any event the NSX is the better car. The new vette is a dissapointment where looks are concerned. just look at the rear end...wtf was GM thinking. I'll gladly take the c5 over it any day. Sure 500hp would be great but I like a car that has usable power. For everyday use the NSX wins hands down.

Maybe you can explain why the NSX is the better car.

No problem, The 2001 NSX handles better, does a 12.9 stock in the 1/4 mile(as tested in C&D), Gets better gas mileage, more reliable, looks better, better interior, I could go on. Search google if you don't believe.

Are you a patholgical liar or just an idiot? I think both.

Car..............EPA Fuel Efficiency Rating
NSX..............17/24 mpg
Vette............18/28 mpg

R&T lists the NSX 1/4 @ 13.4 s. I did a bit of googling and found that the NSX 1/4's consistently in the 13's.

Also while googling I discovered the Vette Cd is 0.28 whereas the NSX is 0.30. Another one of your lies exposed!

I see you are gonna stick with the more reliable lie also. Not surprising.

Please go on.

Unlike you, who apparently isn't living in the real world, I will believe it when I see it. Not to mention Honda officially axed the NSX a few weeks ago. Keep dreaming though, I'd love to see them again too, but reality is a bitch.

I feel you, babylou.

Unfortunately, some folks are just ignorant.

DARKMAZ8, instead of saying the NSX is better, why don't you just say YOU like it better. In the meantime, wipe all that egg off your face.
