Ok, that commercial was awesome. Haha, did you see it literally blow the doors off that other car? Classic! This commercial is by far the best thing about the MAZDASPEED 3.
I will echo the fact that Mazda is just odd. They claim they are committed to the rotary yet release two cars that are MUCH faster in a straight line than the 8. I really wish Mazda would release a sporty coupe with some *****. I don't think the Kabura will be the answer since it's supposed to be priced around $20k. Either way, I think they have to come up with some exciting at the LA and Detroit auto shows or they're going to make a lot of grown men cry.

I agree I think that's cool!
I've been keeping an eye on the 3. I even test drove one on an Auto X last year.
Handles like a charm.
Let's see what she can do at the track.
I'd love to get one as a daily commuter. Then I could also terrorize the neighborhood.

Stuck in a love triangle
I agree that the engine should have been placed in the 4 door model instead of the 5 door. I can't think of any reason why they would put it in the 5 door other than to make sure it doesn't completely blow away the Mazdaspeed 6.

I think people are confusing volume seller with flagship. The RX-8 is Mazda's flagship whether it sells or not. Also, when Mazda had it corporate commercial where all cars were driving in the desert making a wedge, the RX-8 was at the tip. Funny now though when I went to Zoom-Zoom live just recently and watched some 5 minute corporate feel good Mazda commercial, the RX-8 was hardly ever shown. The Mazda 3 and MX-5 where all over the place. I think Mazda is even aware of the RX-8s lackluster image.

Id like to mention that I personally drove the mazdaspeed 3 today and it is indeed a pretty sweet ride. Third gear definately feels like the power gear for this car. However, throw all the power you want into it, I still love my rx8 more. As for how I was allowed to drive it, ill keep that my secret. I guess I work for the right place at the right time. It was however a nice forty minute highway drive. I hope these things sell well when they hit showrooms in the fall. They look like the ultimate sleeper, and the exhaust note was quite exhilerating for a stock car. It sounded aftermarket.

Mazda should just have an option for a turbo to put on a pre-existing Rx-8. Just another MazdaSpeed part. But of course it shouldn't be too expensive since my car should've come with one from the beginning!

About the MS8, i'd just like to see proof that they haven't scraped that project. I suspect they have.
