Why did Mazda killed the mazdaspeed6 after 2007?
Poor sales?
Reliability issues?
priced wrong?
mazdaspeed3 killed it?
Lots of leftover 06/07 can be had for about the same price if not lower than a mazdaspeed3. Was tempted to get one to replace our 92x. But alas, needed a wagon format. I bet I can get it down to mazda3 price if I pushed it.

Poor sales, probably due to pricing, which was probably due to AWD.
I also read production of it was cut in anticipation of the 6 redesign. The Speed3 is so popular and so affordable that the 6 might not get the turbo treatment again because it wouldn't offer enough above the 3 to be a good seller.

My understanding of the Speed series or products is that it comes out the last 2 model years of the style. The new 6 comes out in 09 so I don't know how true the statement that I heard was...but that is what was said.

the speed 6 was a sleeper. it came out and no one really heard about it. funny story i heard was that when the Speed 3 came out, people really became more aware and intrested in the Speed lineup and that caused more intreste in the Speed 6, but the car was out of comission by then.

Yes that is true for the miata speed and protege speed. But it seemed the speed6 was killed off even though mazda6 is still being sold for 2008. I think the turbo problems might have something to do with it. Bad cooling design.

The Speed6 although a good car performance wise, looks like your everyday run of the mill Japanese sedan. I remembered when they tried to tell me that it was a faster car then the 8 when I was looking into buying my 8 at the dealership. I took one look at it and thought to myself it looks like my dads 02 4-door Accord fixed up. I grew up around Hondas and didn't want a car that looked like one.
