Who makes racing sequential manuals?

I'm looking for information on a racing sequential manual gearbox. And none of that paddle shift crap, a real one. I've tried searching google but all I get is **** about BMW's "formula 1 inspired revolutionary etc etc."

Not info on how it works, I'm looking for someone who makes them for sale.

Anyone here know of one?

Thanks,
-Falken

You can always try EMCO Gears. They make transmissions for every major race series here in the states. I know the GT RX-8's in the Rolex series run GT46 trannys. They are pricey though as I would imagine any type of sequential setup.

Wow, when they don't even list the price on the website, you KNOW it's going to be like...20 thousand dollars.

The Renesis powered Diasio D962R has a Sequential trans. The Hewland 6-speed sequential FTR Transaxle to be exact. So looking into one that already fits the Renesis is a good place to start.

how are sequentials useless for every day life?

quite a few cars (vw dsg, bmw smg) have sequential gearboxes. please elaborate what you mean further because i think you are wrong.

you have to shift every gear... ok yeah so what? i have to do that anyway.

Try again, the GT 46 transmission is $53,000.00, the axle kit is $12,750.00 and the drive shaft adapter is $2,750.00.

A grand total of $68500!

That's a actually a really great deal...especially for the tranny it is. If you want the best you gotta pay the price. Besides when you look at what cars use that transmission, Rolex GT cars mostly, that price is a drop in the bucket.

One track day at Watkins Glen someone brought one. Seeing it kick butt and have a Renesis in it made me feel related, in a distant sort of way.

You know how when someone says "expensive" you have a general estimate, and than you have your "hah, well its not like its going to be $________ or something" price? Well for me that was $30,000.

^I was adding in some other parts when I did my calculations...68500 is right though. I just mis-typed.

Not a cheep trannys but Holinger (I think thats how you spell) it makes some and HKS makes some for drifting and drag. You can pick them up for about $5 and up. Or you can just upgrade the gears

Ok, I think it's time for me to start looking at cheaper alternatives to professional racing transmissions.

I need a way to shift faster, like track fast, but I'm kind of afraid of the paddle shifty trannys because I hear they're just guised manuals and have huge hydraulics that leech power from the engine.

Ferrari sequential might be cheaper?

I'll buy that trans if it comes to it but I don't think I really need the cream of the crop racing trans to satisfy my current needs.
