whats your oppinion of Honda?
I noticed some of you guys have anti honda avatars and seem to really dislike honda. Im just wondering why that is?
No one in my family have ever owned a honda, but it seems they are extremely reliable and efficient. I think they make the best 4 cylinder engines in the world. The NSX R is the fastest JDM car and corners better than even the s2000. Now that they are making a V10 and V8 Im intrigued at what they will be able to do with those.
Im just wondering what you guys think of honda, and for those that really dislike honda, why?

Honda is one of THE BEST car manufacturers in the world. they only reason why people "hate" on honda is b/c of what people make of them. they turn an econo box (civic, accord, etc.) and slap on all these cheap "go-fast" parts. very untasteful...in other words, RICE. don't get me wrong, there are plenty of fast worth civics, integras, etc. companies like Spoon and Jun have done amazing things with hondas. honda also does well in F1 and Super Bike grand prix. they make some pretty good lawn mowers too!! honda was the first to put variable valve timing onto the market...VTEC. Honda is awesome.

Honda is a good company, great realiability and everything. But again, they do stupid stuff to their honda's. I like the s2k, i like the nsx, and i like the type r civic and integra but for me, my preference is that they are too common for me and i would prefer to get something that people dont really have but a honda is a good family car. But its not my taste.

Honda spelled backwards spells
ad no h
In otherwords, adds no horsepower ...
Seriously though, I had a civic which I did not rice and ABSOLUTELY loved. Only the RX8 has gotten closer to my heart...

its not the honda's temselves, its the stuck up poeple who make them RICE and think they are soo fast. hondas are good reliable cars, dont get me wrong. just not "race cars". well except for the s2k and nsx.....

It isn't their cars, which are awesome. It's the fanboys--the dumbasses with poorly-done cosmetic "improvements" on their economy Hondas, and their delusions of living life a quarter mile at a time when in reality their cars are bone stock and they couldn't change their sparkplugs if their lives depended on it.

if your not 1st your last
well some have there own type of hate for the H.
I have always been a rotor head and so rotor VS piston has been with me since I was young.Mostly from when I was younger and would street race.
but now drive a civic and have owned several 11-12sec crx, integra's.and all very reliable
my last crx made 250@ the wheels NA.

RX8 HA HA
i too own a crx as my daily driver. It's very efficient on gas and is very cheap to maintain. The crx takes the daily beating while the 8 sleeps in the garage

Honda makes the most reliable piles of boredom on the planet, but all of the sports cars they make are either too small for me to fit in (S2000) or too expensive for me to afford (NSX). That leaves only torqueless FWD econoboxes. The engines may rev well and have a huge aftermarket, but if you've ever experienced 300fwhp you'de understand why it's an exercise in futility.

My daily driver is a 2000 Civic. It's been a great car. So far it's got 125,000 miles on it. Everything has been great. It'll probably go another 125,000 with no problems. It may be fairly slow but at 32/38 mpg I'm not going to argue with it.
FWIW: I flooded it this week! Don't think it's only a rotary thing.

Do some research before making outright claims like that.
On a side note, Honda also has a factory in Shenzen China. Doesn't mean the quality is any less.

The RX-8 is the only non-Honda product I've owned since 1991. In 14 years I've never been stranded.
Properly maintained, they just start, every time.
They pioneered variable valve timing, which is now used by almost every manufacturer. Back in the early 90s, 190+ HP from a NA 4 cylinder was unheard of, as was 250+ from a NA V6... unless it was from Honda.
The 86 CRX HF got what, 50 MPG? And that was in 1986.
The designs are bland, with few exceptions, but they sell LOTS of cars.
Great quality, great technology, and a well-run business as well, in my opinion.

My opinion on Honda is that it's affordable, reliable & easy to maintain. Nothing wrong with their cars in my opinion. I thought about getting the S2000 too but decided that the 8 is better for me & since I know a bunch of people that have them already.

I don't know what other people's problem is with Honda.
I think Honda is great! ALL their cars are fantastick in their respective categories.
The only Honda I'm not quite feeling is the NSX... dont get me wrong, its nice but @ 142K I am NOT feeling it

hondas are great.
my current daily is an EK sedan, does the job, park it anywhere.
hondas have strong gearbox (hint hint mr. mazda) and reliable engines.
each car manufacturer have their own quality control, even if they have off-shore plants.
how many ppl have you heard having problems with their jap built cars.....
alot of european cars are now built by other countries
anyway, i like hondas as much as i like other brands, inc. mazda

i have owned 3 honda civics, one of which i bought off of a friend, all of them got better than 30 mpg, and thats with all the bolt ons. i beat the **** out of them, and they never let me down. dont get me wrong, i absolutely love my 8, and will continue to love it for years to come. if i ever get around to getting a beater, it will be a honda.
keep in mind, that honda knows engines, they are the worlds largest manufactured of gasoline engines. period.

My last car was an Acura Integra. Great car, never had any problems during the four and half years I owned it. My wife has a Honda Element. She loves it. We've hauled all sorts of stuff in it for our many home improvement projects. Never had a problem.
My father also has a Honda Element. His is a 2003 which is the first model year. He's put nearly 120,000 miles on his car in almost three years and it runs as good as the day he bought it. He also has a 1969 Honda CB 750 motorcycle that he bought brand new. Thirty-six years later it still starts and rides like it did when he bought it.
Say what you will about Hondas; they make good products. Some people "rice" theirs out and that's ok for them. Not my place to tell them what to do with their cars no matter how stupid I think they look. :p :D

My gripe with Honda is that they make the most boring cars in the entire galaxy. They have FWD syndrome. If they added some V6 and V8 (No less than 270hp) RWD coupe/sedans to their line-up then that would be a plus. The second thing they need to do is be bold and agressive with their design. Their cars are nothing but visual sleeping pills.
