What will you Replace your 8 with?

what do you guys think you will buy once your 8 goes belly up, or you get tired of driving it? If you LOVE the 8, what do you think is a comparable car that will get your jimmies off? BRZ/frs? s2? Miata? 350z?(booo, lame), lexus whatever its called? bmw 128i? what do you think is the most entertaining rwd coupe that you would enjoy as an alternative to the 8?

Tired of driving it? TIRED OF DRIVING IT?

What an insane thought.

I expect to move from my 8 to a cemetary plot.

Mazda CX-5.

Yea I know, a 3,400 pound, 155 hp, automatic transmission truck... what the... ? But it doesn't seem to know that, it looks in the mirror and sees a very tall Miata, lol.

I just got back from a REAL test drive of one. Nearly an hour over some great twisty roads, no salesman, just me and my friend (who I think is quite carsick now, lol). And I just want to go do it AGAIN

Coupe Impreza swapped with STI drivvetrain for a daily. Keep the 8 for track duty.

I got stuck with one as a loaner when my car was rear ended, years ago. What a death trap...I finally bitched enough to get a Mazda Protege, which wasn't half bad.

Back on topic - maybe a Cayman, but I'm not really interested at this point and can't be bothered to look at them.

lots of turbo lag. jeremy clarkson beat an evo on the top gear track with like a camry or something. problem with turbos is they take so long to get going. but a good car if you live where there is snow.

turbo lag on the old evo but was the UK Spec Ralliart MR400

not a standard evo you get everywhere else

Drive an evo, they arent laggy at all (compared to most turbo cars)

And they are awesome without snow

Anyways, if I must (which I doubt since I don't plan on selling the RX-8), it is going to be an FD3S RX-7. Either way, I'm just adding more to the stable and the FD is going to be next.

interesting that not very many people picked cars in the 8s class. I would have figured you guys would be fans of small two door coupe style cars, because that is what most people compare this ride to.

Tired of driving it? When I'm dead, I suppose..

If for some reason I'm forced to part with it (accident, airplane falls on it, whatever) then I will look at a mazda Rotary car (if they have one at that point), and if they don't, and they don't offer a piston-powered car comparable to the RX, then I'm off to BMW or Mini. If it's my only car that is.

If I have the luxury of 2 cars, then one may well be the new Miata when it comes out -- or maybe it's Alfa cousin. (A japanese-italian crossbreed? A low-maintenance drama queen? Is this even possible?)

You don't like or agree with each other. Accept it and carry on.

The 8 is a lot of things, and why people buy it is just as varied. Some buy it for the looks, some for the handling, some for the power, some for the rotary, some for the grand tourer, some for the practicality, some for the grins, and some for the passion. What people move on to is equally varied, because they are usually seeking either to fill what the 8 couldn't, or progress on what it could.

And plenty see that it fits them perfectly, and trying anything else is going to be a disappointment, so never leave, never get tired of it.
