I may be doing that soon with my 8.
I need a few 2"x4"s to finish my deck railing.
Going to have to go through the pass through sticking out of my trunk.
Never street race or exceed posted speed limits. 1 month ago in SoCal, even a 'measly' 240hp will still get you killed quick. The false sense of security your cars' frame + airbags gives you will quickly disappear if you find yourself in a serious situation. Especially in older cars, safety tech has come leaps and bounds. Anytime you exceed posted speed limits you should be prepared for the worst. The vehicle you own does not make you adept in any way nor will it save your life.
Let's do our best to keep the streets safe

Have to disagree with the bolded part. Depending on where you live, posted speed limits can be set way too low for bad reasons, and the way these stories are reported can worsen the issue, as explained by this video.
Naturally, I am not encouraging street racing or excessive speeding that are actually dangerous, but there are good reasons most people ignore the posted speed limits(outside of school/playground/construction zones).
And in some cases, you are being the dangerous one going the posted speed limit rather than following the flow of the traffic.
Our province has several municipalities that build arterial roads with sight lines and feeder roads/driveways that allow for much higher limits than posted. Becomes dangerous to everyone to drive at posted speed when typical safe traffic flow is 20 to 30 kmh higher than posted.
Provincial highways are slowly being adjusted for this. I’m not a street race advocate, just frustrated by 60 kmh limits on roads designed for 90.
Great link to watch by the way.

As the video mentioned, Marine Drive is notorious for that. At least in BC, the use of radar/lidar detector is legal. That's why I have one.
I have heard that some people consider the S2000 scary literally due to "VTEC kicked in yo". Supposedly, S2000 has one of the most apparent VTEC engagement. To a new driver, it could be a handful.
I would argue that something like S2000 or WRX STi is just as dangerous as a V8 pony car if you don't know what you are doing. At least with the V8 pony cars, while there is a lot of power, power delivery tends to be very linear and predictable. VTEC and the ancient EJ25 turbo technology in the STi are not linear and in the latter case, not predictable. RX-8 is great in the sense that it doesn't have too much torque and it delivers power in a very linear fashion(nothing ever "kicks in"), which is part of why it's so forgiving.
Either way, I think the speed that S2000 is going to end up like that is not relatable to your average person doing 10% over the posted speed limit. Would need more info to make any conclusions.
Panic is the enemy. Hard to be present in the moment when it sets in. CO2 extinguisher just blew the liquid fuel around and made the fire bigger.
Every automotive shop I've ever been in has kitty litter / oil absorbent in a big tub or bag with a big scoop. A couple of scoops of that on that liquid-fueled fire probably would have stopped it.
