I wonder how he acquired a running driving rx8 for $500.

More of that story here: http://blog.caranddriver.com/lemons-...-penalty-laps/

The 'claim' that it was 'washed ashore in CA some time after the Japanese Tsunami.

I have trouble believing the claim though, as it is very clearly left hand drive

I lived in Japan for three years and there are a few left hand drive import (American or European) cars on the road. However, the city that was devistated by the tsunami is a small community, although close in proximity to Tokyo, I would agree with RIWWP that the BMW X3 didn't wash away from Japan. Well, any of you know where Godzilla came from?

X3? That was an RX-8, which wouldn't be an "import" from Japan's perspective. The only reasonable way a LHD RX-8 would be in Japan would be if it somehow never made it on the boat to get exported (exception, someone missed a number, etc...).

This is ignoring the complete lunacy of thinking someone would buy the "floated across the Pacific" story.

I guess I was looking at the X3 photo in the shoreline and didn't read the link in the post above...
