spotted THIS little beauty in Santa Ana on Saturday. This tough guy got all tough when I pulled up next to him at a red light. He started 'hitting the switches' as fast as he could. I almost stalled out I was laughing at him so much.

Nothing greater then rolling my window down, pointing at him, and laughing.

Look at how high up the rear end of the car is...

I guess the hood on the E Mod car doesn't really show up in that picture.

Figured I would ask the question in this thread...

Back when I had my 6, I went online to purchase the front lip, sides, and rear from Mazda. My 6 was 'lapis blue'. I realized the front wasn't available in my color and I didn't want to purchase the set unless it would match all the way around. I then considered getting the front, side, rear in the white that Mazda offers. A minute later I changed my mind. I had the Monte Carlo SS 2-tone exterior look in mind when I got this idea. Any opinions on this look if I had done it???

i like that 240 though, if he is drifting, the large wing actually helps alot in that it gives the rear wheel more grip, (think it allows for larger drift)

This post has epic amounts of fail.

He's not drifting, he's auto-crossing. "e-mod" is an auto-cross class.

When you drift, you want LESS grip on the rear wheels.

Even when auto-crossing you're probably not moving fast enough to get any benefit from the wing.

He's probably just looking to put as much weight as possible over the back wheels. I think he's succeeded with that park bench. That way 2 people can sit on it to keep the back end from oversteering.

Theyre usually too proud of there ricejobs to turn their head away from the wheel to notice someone's taking a pic of them. Even if they saw, they'd probably think we like what they did.

true, the art of drifting is controlling an oversteer, however, to go into a faster and larger drift, you want grips in the back tire and enough power to keep the backwheel just off traction, so you can drift with a smaller angle at much higher speed. if there wasn't enough grip in the rear tire, you won't have enough foward force to push through a large highspeed drift.

but if he is autocrossing... ..

someone get this guy a miata.. he dosen't deserve a 240

Go beat off to "Super Street." Drifting is already a waste of a perfectly good car, and I'm not taking any lectures on it from a kid who can't tell it from autox.

seriously, i like drifting for many reason, and i don't really know what super street is, but its not one of them. i moved here from that part of the world and u know what, putting cone down is a legit way of practicing drifting. autox is just driving around in a parking lot with cones using grip techniques while drifting newbies practice in a large skidpad/mountain/parking lot..

speaking of autox, i was planning to try it this weekend, but from the sound of it, i might just stay away and go to texas drift, save my money for my tires.

btw, using 240 in autox is a WASTE OF A GREAT DRIFT CAR

EDIT: y'all are welcome to join us play kid stuff with cones

A. "Super Street" is a magazine.

2. Let me know how practicing on a mountain works out for you- you can be like that kid who rolled his 8 off a cliff.

D. Good thing you decided not to go auto-x this weekend, you'd probably be laughed out of there. I'm sure everyone will be happier if you go off and be the kid who's too cool for traction.

5. There is no such thing as a "great drift car."
