What to do after when taking out your RX8 out of storage?
Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum. Sorry i haven't posted this threat at the right place. However i jsut got an RX8 GT , i've been reading and studying this car for months now. I would like to know what to do when you take out the rx8 out of storing ? ( when it's been sitting for like 4 month) ... it was starting 2 or 3 times every month to let it run for a bit. What to do ???

5w20 oil should be fine in canada this time of year. Check your brakes. Check your radiator fluid and if you have the know how or tool check the freeze point on it. Most places like auto zone have the tool its 5 bucks. I don't know what parts stores you have in canada. it should look like this http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=525881_0_0_ . If you have never done it, I would do a transmission fluid and diff fluid change. Depending on your mileage and how long youve owned the car but once every year doesn't hurt. Check your tires for bald spots or flat spots. Sometimes sitting in the exact same spot can damage a tire.
Start the car up and let it warm up for a good 30 seconds before you drive it and to wait for it to maybe throw a cel but I wouldn't think it will. Then go for a good 30-45 min drive. Thats the average time it takes an alternator to recharge a battery from dead to fully charged. Reasonably dead that is because if you kill a battery it will not recharge. Also do a minor bedding in of your brakes if they feel like they arent gripping. Basically 3 or 4 medium-hard stops without locking the wheels or stopping the vehicle, basically a couple good pulses to heat the pads and bed the rotors.

Perfect, also you say 5W-20 systhetic or non-synthetic ? .. during winter in can go down to -30 ... and during summer up to 35 degrease....
thats going to have to be something you decide for yourself. I can only tell you that 5w20 castrol gtx should work in this temp for you. There is a very long thread on what oils worked what oils didnt. I can tell you I run royal purple. But I cant recommend anything to you other than castrol gtx which is what mazda uses.
