VW Touareg V10 TurboDiesel????

I went to the VW site and they only list the V6 and V8 there, I thought we were getting the V10 Diesel too? Does anyone know if and when they're bringing it over here?

Reason I ask is that my step-dad is interested in a diesel that he can convert to run on used oil or some crap, biodiesel i think it's called???? So he's thinking Excursion, F-250, Ram 2500, all those huge trucks. He's kind of a BMW guy, so I told him about the Touareg instead, I believe it has some form of turbo on it and puts out some pretty impressive power numbers, so I'm hoping he'll gain interest and pick one of these up instead.... if they bring it over here..... Any help would be much appreciated!!!

It's available because I met a silver V10 Turbo D. on the highway a few days ago. It was badged that, and when he took off hard from the stop light you could definately tell by the low end quickness and the light black smoke from the dual exhausts. It's a ridicuolously priced option though if I remember right.

Nice thanks man! How'd it sound by the way? And I think you're right about the pricing, I read in a mag somewhere that it's upwards of 60K, I'm guessing in the 70's.

I wonder why they haven't listed it on the site?

I think I read somewhere that it was discontinued. That would explain it being absent from their web page.

There are a couple roaming the streets here in Indiana but tjklein is right. They are/were priced at 55K

I've seen used ones, still expensive though. They are pretty quick and get decent mileage, if i could afford a newer suv it would be the toureg diesel or v8.
