V-8 Miata Project Car

I was watching "Gearz" on TV, and Stacey David is building this V-8 crate motor Miata- this would be a really cool ride without spending a fortune. Plenty of cars, parts, aftermarket goodies. Should run like hell!

I caught the episode where he was installing the powertrain. A tight fit, for sure. But I don't think anyone will call that a "chick car".

There are many LS- Miatas (and tons of other cars for that matter, especially Rx-7s).

This site and its accompanying forum are always interesting reads. My favorite was a WRX project that was a huge undertaking and ended up with RWD and an LS6

Thats been around for years. I owned a supercharged Miata back in the day and there was talk of sending it off to Atlanta to have it done for 18k......I think that was back in 2002/2003.

I'm sure it would be a fun car to drive, if not neccesarily fast as it might seem. I know it's for kicks and I understand the point, but this is roughly the equivalent to me of swapping a turbo K20 into a Corvette to make it handle better with the same/more horsepower. Sure, it would and could be as fast or faster but it kinda takes away the essence of the car.

I would love to see a track/autocross comparison between some Flyin Miata cars and some V8 Miata cars and see how they shake out...
