Used 2013 Mazdaspeed3 - what to offer?
I'm thinking of buying a used Mazdaspeed3 to replace my RX-8 from an independent dealer.
2013 Mazdaspeed3
8700 miles
Red/black
Tech package
Warranty good till Nov. 2015
Asking $22,000
They have had the car 60 days and have dropped the price already I think $1K. For reference, Mazda has a $2K rebate on outgoing 2013 MS3s and invoice for an equivalent new one would is $26K then subtract the rebate for $24K before taxes/fees.
I'm thinking of offering $20K. Thoughts?

I would think the price should be much lower than they are trying to get. I know kbb says they are pricing it accurately(without knowing all the trim options) but that seems high for a used car even if it is only a year old.
On edmunds if you look at their true market value for a 2013 ms3 it shows about 22-23k which is on a new one. Of course the price changes depending on the options it has. You would probably be better off just trying to haggle the price of a new one down. You could also look around at other similar cars, the subaru wrx is right in that price range for the 5 speed manual and you get awd with it. Just be sure to check out all of your options in that price range.

WRX was a possibility too, but the interior is so ugly compared to the MS3.
