Ok so I got rid of my E90.. LOL..needed a bigger car so I picked up this new beater:





I only have these 2 pix of it from the day I picked up the car from the stealership. It's a brand new 535i...And yes I ordered wheels for it already lol...modding begins!!!

Some reason those pictures make it seem a lot bigger than a 5 series. What are your plans for this car? I saw you had at least a tune on the 335i. Are you generally a fan of BMW or did you look at other cars before switching to the 5 series? Or did they just offer a better deal to keep you in a BMW?

I drive an S4 with the twin turbo V6, so I definitely respect the 335i and the twin turbo 6 cylinder engine. I'm a bit more of an Audi fan, so I'll probably favor a newer Audi a bit more, but there's a decent chance I'd consider the 335i as my next car just because it seems like such a great platform to work on and I'm guessing the aftermarket development will continue for quite a while.

Are there any huge differences in terms of layout for the engine components on the 535i or are most modifications compatible between the 2?

nice pick! LOVE the new 5 series compared to the last gen. Did your e90 have the N54? If so that would answer 8Maniac's question. They are relatively the same engine, except the N55 puts out a tad bit more torque at lower RPM's compared to the 54. I believe peak torque is reached at 1200rpm compared to the n54's 1300rpm. It is actually expected that the 135 will inherit the n55.

edit: my mistake, 2011 models of all 1/3/535i's have the N55

The new F10 5 series is a much bigger car inside and out compared to the last gen. It has the N55 engine I6 single twin scrolling turbo. Yes I only had the 335i chipped with dual intakes but thats all it really needed. I do have some plans for this car though. It will be getting chipped/ tuned once a better tune is out on the market. I already ordered some 20 inch rims (DUBBS) for it and should arrive in 3 weeks. A drop along with tint and an exhaust is also on the list along with some catless down pipes. But for now i'm just enjoying the car. Definitely not as fast as the 335i obviously but it can still hold its own.

The N54's seem to still make better power vs the N55 if similar tunes were applied.

had too. Needed a better daily that I can pack my kids and the wifey in. It has an extra cab so we all fit lol..and I also needed it for my auto detailing business.

the rims I ordered are nothing special. Just some 20 inch forgestar f10's. 20x9 and 20x10.5. I wanted ADV1's but didnt know I had to sell body parts to afford those wheels lol

whats the ETA on those forgestars? just wondering because i have the f14's n' they took forever (well, maybe not compared to some) to get n' i even picked them up from their warehouse.

ADV1's would be nice...i'd love those...that is if i had a first born to put up as a down payment

F10's are going to look great! Sucks Forgeline/Forgestar has somewhat of a crappy rep when it comes to being on time.

^personally - the thing i found the most frustrating was trying to communicate with someone at forgestar regarding anything that has to do with an ETA.

I hope this won't be the case as i'd really like to see what they look like in person

very true, but im patient. I waited 6 month for my old TE37's so this will be a breeze lol. I still havent even broken in the car yet. Have a few more hundred miles to go!

I hope they come out nice, if they don't oh well, i'll sell them, I've been eye balling a set of 21 inch Alpina B7 wheels. Those are to die for!

I've always liked white cars, other than my crx, this is my first white car. I do have some plans for it though.
