Thumbs up Ultra Yellow 350Z

OK, before anyone thinks I'm starting yet another Z vs. 8 thread, I'm talking colors here.

Saddened by the loss of Lightning Yellow, I was on my way to my local Mazda dealer to check out the new white RX-8s they've just received. However, before I could get there, something in the Nissan dealer next by caught my eye.

In the showroom window glared a brand new Ultra Yellow 350Z. While Mazda has dropped yellow, Nissan has done just the opposite and has introduced yellow for the '05 model year. I love Nissan's ultra yellow! It's much darker than lightning yellow and has mica or metallic flakes as well. I was so taken with the color that the sales guy begged me to take it for a test drive. This was only the second time I have driven the 350Z, the first time was 2 years ago. I was quite impressed with the torque and growl of the exhaust. Very fun, and I can see why many people love the Z, I like it a lot. But aside from the torque, it really didn't feel any quicker than my 8. Anyway, I digress, I'm talking colors right.

Being a big fan of yellow sports cars, I really have to say I adore the way the Z looks in ultra yellow. If I were buying an '05 car, the fact that Mazda dropped lightning yellow, and that the Z looks so good in ultra yellow to me, might have swayed me towards the Z.

I don't think that color is new. I've seen lots of orange Z's.

EDIT: Alright, it's not the orange one, but that color looks more orange than yellow to me.

I saw an Ultra Yellow Z convertible at a Nissan dealer near my house. Nice car, and it was gone within a week.

Yeah, I noticed the similarity in those wheels too. And nope, I'm not thinking of trading.

I first test drove a Z back in early 2003 long before the RX-8 was released. I liked it back then too, but really needed back seats. Once I test drove the RX-8 I knew it was for me, but haven't driven the Z again until now. I guess what really surprised me the most was that the Z didn't really feel faster, I thought it would given the big HP & torque advantage. The difference was very marginal, the main thing was the punch of torque down low.

But I have to admit that I do have color envy, I love that ultra yellow!

The Zed looks PHAT in yellow!

Actually, I suppose it's just okay, seeing as it's only a Nissan.

The ultra yellow looks so much better than the lightning yellow. I've never liked the 8's pokemonish yellow.

I am glad that Nissan reintroduced Yellow on the Z

I am glad that Nissan reintroduced Yellow on the Z, ..... even if it is on the chubby, unrefined, kid brother Z. :D

Not a photoshop. Seen the color in person and would have to agree, it is one of the nicest looking yellows out there. The flake in the paint really sets it off.

which is why I said "looks like a photoshop", not "it is a photoshop". I dig the color, but that picture almost looked like a photoshop to me, for about 3 seconds I could have sworn those were mazda wheels etc. If they had a yellow when I was shopping around, I might have even considered a z myself, except those nappy door handles...what were they thinkin'

Well, the local Nissan dealer is selling a hardtop yellow 350Z. I might want to check it out before it disappears.

Wow buddy. Just joking around, but thanks for the spelling lesson. And I never said that I dont like the Mazda yellow. I think that on the eight it looks fantastic. All that I said is that I think that the Nissan yellow is one of the coolest looking yellows around. And most people seem to agree. I dont understand why some people here say oh well if it is on a z it must be crap. People like this are not car enthuasist, instead just children whos parents bought them very expensive toys. I love the eight and I love the Z. Both yellows are nice.
