a lot better than ASEAN market version (see start of topic).
My 2 cents: end of 2010 we get here in EU this version for restyling of 2. |
I'm gonna buy one and put my RE30's on it for a DD :)

Take a look at the LA Show gallery. A pretty mean looking white one blacked out. Sorry for the pic size. Love the new 2! http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....2lalive_20.jpg |
Why does it have to green? YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GREEN TO BE 'GREEN'. Don't they know that blue is the new green? I would definitely have done a different color but I guess they have commitees to decide these things.
Paul. |
I agree - the Kermit color is unflattering esp. against the orange turn signals/reflectors. Admire the white one above.

The GREEN was the 'Start" or new Model Colour (Color) Mazda always does...
The GREEN was the first Colour For the new Mazda 2 World Wide... Just like the Celestial Blue was/is the start (all new) Colour for the new 2010 Mazda 3. The Yellow for the RX-8... |

and they did a sort of negative version of the white one in green http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....2lalive_21.jpg |
Like the metallic gray one too, but even if that green is the global debut color doesn't mean its attractive. It's unflattering to a great car. But I guess they are trying to hammer Kermit Green as "environmentally friendly."
At least the new Ford had the sense to put the new Fiesta in flattering colors for the debut. The new Fiesta dash looks like a Transformer is ready to transform at the push of a button. I wanted to see pics of the US Mazda2 dash but ZILCH. I'm figuring it'll look like the global dash with some tweaks here and there. |
WOW!!!!!! WOW!!!!! And there I was complaining about the blandness. Mazda did everything I would have done and more. Now, I hope there ads are good and effective.
Paul. |
i LOVE this! can't decide if i like the white one or the gray/green one more. probably the white one. i want one of these cars!!!
|
just noticed the gray one has the non-NA spec tails with the clear/white ont he bottom instead of the top.
|
I love the aero of the speed2, not just a downward extension, but an actual mini splitter it looks like. I'll take one in white, that really looks hot. Seriously, I could see myself driving it. Not over my 8, but not shabby at all. Really nice.
My wife will be sold once she sees these pics, although she will still be wanting to see what blues are available. Perhaps a new blue color for the 2? I can't see them going with the Aurora, since it is R3 specific, the stormy, phantom, and winning are all phased out, and the electric has been around for the pre-2010s, haven't seen it for the 2010 colors yet. I guess celestial blue and/or the gunmetal blue? Both are new on the 3 for 2010, so I could see carryover. The gunmetal blue looks like a variant of the phantom blue. Or Kona blue, just found that on the 2010 6, looks like a variant of the stormy blue. |
4-lug wheels? Odd. I thought Mazda was strictly 5. Swapping rims between all the models was awesome, guess we lose that.

That works, just a little dull and doesn't do the car full justice.
Paul. Best colours are Chrystal White Pearl (my white ;)), True Red, Radiant Ebony (Cherry),Black, Metro Gey and Aurora Blue. Specs..Notice rear DRUM Brakes (same here), IMO NO MAZDA should have rear Drum Brakes...for Pete's Sake!. Ventilated Disc's up front. Electric Power Assist Steering, Space Saver Spare Tyre. 42 Litre Gas tanks, which is about 10 Gallons?? |
I love it, cant wait to getone with the chin spoiler of course,,,,
I think I might even do the same color scheme with the MS style graphics |
Its a cute little car.
To small for my tastes. I'm really beginning to believe that small is the new cool. |
Small is just a reverse of the 'bigger is better', since 'bigger' means 'more fuel'. Dropping weight (and thus, size), is the easiest way to boost performance. Granted, this won't be a pacement scorcher, but I think a very unique fun. Look at the reviews for the Honda Fit for a comparison I think.
|
It would have been nice to see the 2 fit with rear discs but gotta cut costs somewhere. No other US-available subcompact (Versa, Fit, Yaris, Accent, Fiesta) has rear discs and all have rear beam axle suspensions. The VW Polo rumored to be coming also has drum brakes and a beam suspension, although the Polo GTI has 4 wheel disc brakes. Hopefully the Polo GTI is brought over, but I doubt it. Hopefully, a Mazdaspeed2 with a body kit and upgraded hardware will make its way over.
