I test drove one, turbo lag in a SUV was definatly something new to me.. but it was fun, doesnt drive like a traditional SUV. Ride is a little firm but I like it! Again non-SUV-ish. Its an eye catcher, It stands out everytime I see one on the road, I think its the sleek windshield and the huge fender. The back is a little boring, it doenst stand out as much.

Congratz tho! Now you have the 8, and a 8-look-alike SUV!

the turbo lag drives me up the wall. I personally find it infuriating, but it's something i guess i'll get used to. It drives incredible, handles incredible, mazda did good! Just wish it had bluetooth.

Glad you picked one up. I'm really interested to see how the owners are liking them. I'm looking at the CX-7 for my wife. I'm worried about the 1st year bugs but (aside from the CEL fix for the gas cap) it looks like so far, so good. I'm wondering how much road noise and engine noise you get at 80mph?

Some other poster got a CX-7 after driving it while his 8 was getting the recall work done. He posted a week or so ago.

Road noise quite a bit, engine noise not so much. It's loud on the freeway, quieter then our 3, maybe the same as the 8. I honestly expected it to be quieter...

I drove one while my recall was being performed. It was the FWD version. I wish I got a chance to drive the AWD version. Just wondering, why didn't you get the AWD version? I have to say, I love that SUV. My personal complaints about it is the speedo and the hood. I don't like the speedo entirely because it is labled in 20 MPH increments. The hood is heavy! I don't think I've ever felt a hood so heavy, especially for the size. But really, those 2 complaints are very petty. I think if I had the money, I'd get one as a 2nd vehicle. Actually, my dealer asked me if iI was gunna trade in my 8 and get the CX-7! I told them I love my 8 way too much to get rid of it.

We live in CA, the worst weather we get is like 60 degrees and rainy. I just couldn't justify the 2k more the awd would have cost us. We're not exactly rich ya know?

I see. makes sense. I would've liked AWD so the power from the motor gets to the road a little better when you get on it read hard. I noticed the wheels like to slip from all the power in the FWD. But again, congrats looks great!

FWD is just fine, its not like hes looking for a sports car. Id rather get the FWD than AWD version, unless I plan on taking it off road

i didnt like the guage lighting in the touring version i drove. It seems the elctoluminescent guages only come int he GT? in bright daylight it was difficult to read the gauges even with the level adjusted as high as it would go. So id have to get the GT version and FWD just to stay in the price range i would want which would under 30k out the door

30,900 msrp for GT plus tech package
32,600 msrp for GT plus tech package with AWD

Looks like the CX-7 comes with auto climate and auto up/down windows. Mazda--how about our RX-8?

yeah, the lighting in the touring is terrible...

We got a steal of a deal, lets just say invoice was more then we were willing to pay ... i was asked not to reveal the amount. I'm sure a person in your perticular position could do even better.

Prolly not awd, but you could def get otd with a fwd for 30k...

Congrats cleoent. My G/F's been car shopping for weeks now and she really likes the CX-7 and I was pleased with it on the test drive we took. But I'm thinking maybe she needs something smaller.

Congrats!! really! I love those - at least on paper; haven't driven one. Still, if we were to get a small SUV, that'd be near the top of the list.

So - when ya gonna start mod'n it?

i had one for 3 days while my car was being worked on...

the turbo lag drove me nuts but then thats from just going over from the smooth 8

everyone i talked to liked it and i was being asked what it was...i took my mom to do some quick shopping and a lady in an H3 asked what it was and if she could check out the inside. so it a head turner...i dunno why???

its got lots of room and everything was with in an easy reach.

yeah the lag drives me crazy too. You touch the gas to get going, nothing happens, then everyone's head gets thrown back, kind of annoying, i'm hoping i'll learn how to make it smooth.
