tracktime performance driving school?

Anybody heard of Tracktime performance driving school ? They are having a course later this month in Illinois about a few hours from me at Joliet at the Autobahn Country Club and I was considering driving up and giving it a try if I can get the day(s) off work.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience with them or recommendations?

I did not have a positive experience with them. Last year I booked an event at Watkins Glen with them. They did not get enough people to sign up so they cancelled it. They did not offer my money back but instead offered me time at their home track in Michigan. Since I live in New Jersey that was not a realistic option. When I wanted a full refund I got the run around, lucky for me I use a Credit Card and did a chargeback. So all I can comment on is the administration end of their business. If you need to know for sure they have enough people to run the event.

If you're serious about a real track school, I'd look into Skip Barber http://www.skipbarber.com/ or Derek Daly http://www.derekdaly.com/. Both schools offer courses at known road courses all around America.

Alternatively, you could also look into doing a High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) at a track near you that allows you on track time in your car with an instructor.

I participated in several of Track Time's schools years ago. They were handled professionally and had good instructors but I haven't dealt with them in a long time.

The courses used to be two days and I always thought that this was better for novices than a one day school. I was always surprised how much I improved overnight.
