So long to a crappy car. I'm curious how much longer they will be on the road before the cost to maintain them skyrockets past buying a new car.
Clearly support for them will not be as easy with them not being made in the US anymore.
The fact is, people don't want to buy or drive cars like this if they don't have to. This is a classic case of the market influencing car production and once again it's showing people are not overly interested in supposed eco-friendly cars.

This is a new plant that Toyota was building, to build (originally) the Highlander Hybrid, and then the 2011 Pirus and Lexus version of the same car.
It is not that Toyota is shutting down a line, they are in-fact still building the plant, and just not starting production until it is needed.
The turd known as the Pirus will still be made, and imported in record numbers.

Up here they sell everyone they can stick on the lots. there is a very short supply which keeps the demand high enough to sell without incentives. People here and throughout the US clearly WANT this car.

My in law has owned two, she sold her previous one for only 5K less hen she paid. When I wrecked my 8 I drove it for a whole month. Must say it was nice to only fill up once versus three times, though the car was lethargic.
