So because the alarm keeps going off, he sends it back? Uh, heres an idea--disconnect the damn alarm! Clarkson can be very pretentious, and this sort of behavior is a good example. But at least he loved the RX8!

I like the part where he was given a Ford Focus Diesel Wagon as a loaner car when he left his Ford GT with the dealership. Nice service there, Ford, for your customers who just shelled out $100k+ to buy the car that is supposed to symbolize what great things you can do.

i understand what you mean, and I would get the alarm replaced at fords expense with something better (or at least something that works) but at the same time, I would be verry mad if I spent that kind of money on a car, and waited for it for some time, just to get it and have some part of it (alarm) not work perfectly.
Ive driven the FordGT a few times, its an amazing car, i feel that its on par with the Ferrari F430 (i also got to drive, amazingly enough) but if I spent that kind of money, it better work perfect from the get-go.

I know that's messed up! You buy an expensive *** car like the GT40 and they give you a freaking Focus? Are they crazy? They could at least give him their best luxury car.

Typical dealer BS, hes already bought the car and (sounds like) hes paid for it in full, when he brings it in for serice, they give him a diesel focus...but when he returns the car, and gets his money back.....suddenly they give his a Aston DB9 while he 'makes up his mind'
typical.

I know our BMW has an immobilizer system, as did our mercedes. None of them behaved this way. The mercedes was a little oversensitive, but it didnt do this crap and the only time we ever had a problem with it was when the battery exploded in the trunk due to the texas heat. We had to get the entire trunk stereo replaced and all that cuz acid got everywhere and the doors wouldn't unlock until a new battery was hooked up.
