Besides, even I wouldn't buy a Mexican sports car.
Exactly, hahahah.

I think the people who are getting the most fired up about it are the ones who have never seen an episode and just saw that 2 minute clip on the internet. AKA- the people who love nothing more than finding something to get offended about. They act like they hate Top Gear, but deep down inside they actually love them for giving them something new to whine about on their youtube channel haha...

Top Gear wouldn't be Top Gear if they weren't offensive every now and then. Thats why everyone loves them. They have made fun of just about every car making country that I can think of, and all of their fans know that they are only doing it out of good humor, not bigotry or anything like that...

God I hate whiney people... Like this one....

Very fitting that this is posted by a French Canadian in QC, one of the very groups that Clarkson has picked on! People periodically get all upset about this type of stuff, but it's all in good fun.

+1.

they go heavy with germans and italians too....

BTW....cars referred to nationality: what about English cars? those cars are sad, eating(gasoline?) everything of worst quality ,always drunk and not properly dressed.... maybe?

Are Aston's still english cars?

I really hate racism/bigotry more than words can explain, but what I hate even more than that is hypocrisy and the permanent double standards that exist. Why the f can't people take a joke anymore? Why does it matter what color is on the outside? don't ******** and lame people come in all colors? So sick of people looking for stuff to complain about, it's just a tv show after all, why not spend that time looking for solutions to real problems instead of whining about something that's irrelevant.

Does anybody else remember the episode that came on after they sold a DVD in North Korea, when Clarkson said "Helloooo, industrious little people!"...

That has to be my favorite "offensive" Top Gear quote haha

And there's a subtle but important difference between making fun of people in a mean spirited way and doing it warmly and with affection. The TG guys are funny and smart; if you know humor, you know what they're really doing is making fun of stereotypes and the ******** who believe them as universal fact.

That makes me a little sad. Though I found it pretty hilarious when the Japanese people I worked for thought it was "fujita" (fuji like Mt. Fuji). But they're excused because they had only lived in the US for about a year and hadn't really been exposed to the culture.

BBC Apologizes

Our own comedians make jokes about the British being terrible cooks and terrible romantics, and we in turn make jokes about the Italians being disorganized and over dramatic; the French being arrogant and the Germans being over organized. We are sorry if we have offended some people, but jokes centered on national stereotyping are a part of 'Top Gear's' humor.

I wouldn't really call that an apology, more of an explanation.
