Just out of being curious , do you think insurance would cover something like that?

And yes in the poll its says 2.0T because I didnt know I'll get really good deal on that 3.8 R-Spec. It is 3.8 R-Spec and I'm pretty happy so far!

Just adding my .02 here. Before I got my 8, I drove three Genesis coupes, all new. All were the 3.8 Track. I liked the torque (since I had a Spd6 at the time), but it road like crap, and all three rattled. None had more than 100 miles on them. Handling was pretty good, the nav system actually works (as compared to Mazda crap), but the seats were hard, but with good side bolsters. Steering was so-so. Like most Korean cars, they haven't learned how to tune suspension and steering. Yet. Give them a few more years.

There's a lot of content for the money, but the ride and rattles made me decide on the 8.
I like his Genny coupe, and there's no doubt it's quick with the 3.8 liter (although it's also pretty porky - just sayin'), but I agree with you on the rattles, steering and suspension.

Maybe I'm lucky, but my 8 is the only car I've owned out of about 14 that doesn't have a single buzz, rattle or other annoying noise at any speed, in any temperature, after 5 years.

One thing Hyundai could do to really launch itself into the next tier (and I don't understand why they haven't yet, given the obvious talent of their engineering staff) is work on their suspensions - across the board.

Anyways, the Gen coupe V6 is a nice car.

There's a decent recent review on TTAC about it.

My 8 had plenty of rattles and such, and that was when it was new! My 12 year old audi has less noises! But, it has also been more of a pain in terms of maintenance lol.

I'd say Hyundai is about 3/4 there. They made a big jump the last few years. I really wanted to like the Gen Coupe. I did, but 9K RPM just was too hard to pass up. I sort of felt I bought the last of a breed.

I followed a 3.8 last night. It does look pretty good from most angles. For the money it's a pretty good deal with the content. But it just doesn't turn in like the 8 does. It sort of reminded me of my Spd 6 with the clutch engagement not that linear and a balky shifter.
