Update for Feb 17ths hearing. Both Republicans and Democrats have teamed together to fight the EPA. Kind of an unusual thing to hear that both sides are working together for one goal but here it is:
"It was a bipartisan pileup as Republicans and Democrats joined the chorus denouncing the environmental agency. As the overreaching EPA impact settles in on us, it's costing us jobs, it's putting us in a very perilous situation. The resolution easily cleared the Senate, Natural Resources, and Energy Committee. It now heads to the full Senate." The EPA is loosing more and more ground every day. The current budget talks it looks like the EPA will be loosing 1/3 of its funding. Now state by state laws are being passed this week which keep the EPA out of the loop hole. Kentucky was the first, they passed a law that no longer allows the EPA to regulate coal mining and the clean water act. Texas has multiple bills including protection from energy taxes, and the clean air act. If this keeps up at this pace the EPA will be nothing more than another activist group. Which it seems like they are since they are still unable to produce scientists and good viable research for all the laws they imposed. |
ooosh !
just not sure if NY would follow, since we have the biggest idiots running the State and Cities. |
I don't understand a thing guys, how is it possible for an "agency" like the EPA to mandate laws? I'm not particularly aware of your system.
|
Thats the whole point, they legally weren't supposed to but they did.
|
"Do it the american way"!
|
Hope they remove the Ethanol BS. I want GAS in my tank and only GAS. not food, not some overpriced garbage that will slowly poison me to death.

Now EPA is so happy to "follow" this but then Congress again said no they don't have the power to do that. hmm ... so how is that even gonna work. and I really doubt they will give us an "option" to pick between E0-E15 or even E20. I mean if they really give us that option (yea I must be dreaming) who on their right mind would even want any Ethanol bs ? Won't that option kill themselves in the end ? |
and look how the price of corn has gone up.
why not just do high test pure gas and satisfy everyone? I may have said this already--but locally, actual ethanol content is 7-18% at top tier stations. OD |

Hell, I'd put the cheap stuff in my beater. But that can't happen since ethanol is more expensive than gasoline, even with the subsidy, which is why it is subsidized in the first place. If ethanol was such a great idea, the market would drive its success. |

Well, if the gas got cheaper as the concentration of ethanol went up, then the market would drive itself and everything would be just fine. People would make their own choices based on economics.

Good news:
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/02/22/r...lock-e15-fuel/ better news would have been total abolition, but that's a pipe dream. |
The EPA has already approved E15 for vehicles made after 2001, but some groups worry that a higher blend across the board could wind up corroding older engines. Meanwhile, proponents of the increase claim that larger ethanol quantities will help lower America's dependence on foreign oil. No thanks. I want to smack those ass who promote Ethanol. |
Awesome... ethanol is the solution!
|
of course, thanks to our dumb president. he signs whatever the other politicians told him to sign. (notice, NOT scientist)
increase Ethanol production ... *sigh* Yay we are killing ourselves ! YAY ! |
I wonder what is in this stuff, I will have to find the msds sheet.

And the biggest idiot just left. Arnold. Butt... now we have the KING of Global Warming! Jerry Brown. "GO GREEN" works for everybody. Who doesn't want to go Green. I mean I like it. but sadly most idiots have no idea what is the "real" meaning of Go Green. Ethanol is NOT one of them. |
This is stupid:
The EPA approved the raising of the ethanol content to 15% in January -- corn farmers and the ethanol industry understandably welcomed the ruling. |
