Also, even in your reply you state that they are options, reinforcing my point. i respect your opinion, but please don't inform me to pick up a brochure, when i've sat in one. The point of my post was moreso my opinion, tgat a luxury make should include more standard features thats all. be it, bmw, or audi or MB
I agree with you and think the 3 series is a benchmark sedan, and the one to beat. I love german cars. But, I sat in it at the NY auto show, so I have first hand experience. It just would be nice if it came with certain standard features.
Obviously you need to be told to look at a brochure, since you dont know what youre talking about. So, let me reiterate; the 2006 325i COMES STANDARD with a LEATHER WRAPPED WHEEL AND A SUNROOF. Things often change from the time a car is shown at a carshow to the time it hits the dealership.

I assume by 'many people' you mean the little teenagers, students, and ricers who bought them, because real drivers and not those biased by the little 'L' know which is better driving-wise.

And I guess I missed those mag comparisons, because the ones I saw placed the 330 (and in some cases 325) ahead.

I checked the brochure online, and you are correct, so I should take back my above statements, about the 'brochure'. I deserve the slamming. I guess I want to roll MY eyes at BMW then for displaying a plastic steering wheeled ride at the NY auto show. Perhaps it was a pre production, but I am not mistaking what I saw. I know there are a lot of people quick to make generalizations and Iw asn't trying too, nor think my post was too much in that area, i was only basing it on what I saw-and its not like the 325 was in concept stage at the auto show. I've also been to many so know when something is not quite the real deal and not. I agree with you though otherwise. But yes, should still check the real deal before posting and admit wrong here.

I was very impressed with the new 3, but then I focused on the suspension. It doesn't feel nearly as quick as it is because the engine is so smooth and the car is so quiet. The styling only begins to work in the right colors with the 330 Sport Package wheels.

Coming from an RX-8 you're going to be very hard pressed to find a more fun-to-drive car. I've driven over 300 vehicles over the past five years. (For my reviews go to www.epinions.com/user-mkaresh.) For driving enjoyment on real-world roads I don't think the RX-8 can be beat by anything under $60,000. Admittedly I put a much higher priority on handling than on acceleration. And I also care about ride-handling balance. While not quite at 3-Series levels (the ride-handling balance in the new 330 with Sport Package is astounding) the RX-8 rides far better than a 350Z or Honda S2000. Those two will beat the crap out of you along roads that the RX-8 just sails over.

So why don't I have an RX-8? It's coming. My father just bought a lightly used 2005 for a song. When he's tired of it in about a year I'll take it off his hands. My wife insists that I have to get a three-row something-or-other if I get a sports car. Hopefully a year will by me enough time to get a bearable one (probably Mazda5 or Ford Freestyle). Till then it's my Protege5.

Just read the review in Road & Track. What am I missing here?

$42,000 and you get
- 0-60: 6.2
- 1/4: 14.9
- Skidpad: .83g
- Rated City'Hwy Fuel: 20/30 MPG
- ACTUAL R&T FUEL: 16.5 MPG

And they didn;t say crap about that gas mileage. If it was the 8, they wouldn't shut up about it.

My old man just got one of these. He really likes it.

I have yet to drive it or even see it. I tried to convince him to get a G35C (he wanted four seats), instead. I'm none too pleased with the decision but to heck with it, he's the one that has to drive it.
