thats actually a pretty nice car, & (i apologize in advance for the cliche) has some extra go to make up for the extra show...
that is the worst picture i have seen of that particular car yet.

There are bumper kits for the 8 I think are ugly as well, such as the veilside, but at least none of them call up images of late-model Cavalier bumpers.

That car is an insult to every car designer who ever put pen to paper. Can those side flares, rear aero thingies (technical term!) and OMG rear wing look any more hideous or tacked on?
Go ahead Ike, take your best shot. I don't care, I'm tired of seeing as much print on these Subaru's as the RX-8 on this forum.
As the Good Rats said - Speed ain't nothing without class.

I like the subies. They kind of remind me of the happy, fun to be around fat girl that always accompanies the hot chick.
The whole rust colored wheel thing baffles me. I used to think the blue wrx pulled off the "gold" rims, until I had the dual eye patches removed. I do like the GT, but it doesn't really stand out in a crowded sedan class. My friend has one w/ aftermkt nose, wheels, intake, and RUMBLE; and it is pretty sweet. But it will never make prom queen. Damn the 8 looks good in a slutty sequin dress!

I liked the old WRX. Was thinking about getting one. The front end on the new one is problably the ugliest in automotive history. It looks like an Edsel.

I have to laugh at this post... but I won't because an 06 or 07 WRX is now on my short list for "next project vehicle" because of the fact that there's a RWD conversion kit available which takes just a couple hours to install! AWD is okay, but I DO like drifting at Drift Day events! Can you say 300 hp to the rear tires @ 20 psi? I can... Don't get me wrong, I love the way an RX-8 drives, but let's face it, there's a limit to modifying one for a magazine story. I was hoping there would be new changes for 2007 so I could justify making an 8 a project vehicle, but Mazda in their infinite wisdom decided changing the paint was enough.
As far as wings go, if you have a short wheel-base car, and you want to induce aero drag at the rear so it continues to go where you point it, you add a giant wing. On a Subaru, it's not rice, it's rally! On a Honda Civic or Prelude, it induces projectile vomiting (S2000s are a notable exception as they can benefit from a wing for track use). But again, one person's vomit might be another's soup du jour!
If a magazine is going to pay me to make a car go fast, look good, and drift sideways, all at the same time, then my choice is probably going to be an 06 or 07 WRX (with a LOT of body kit additions). I also have to say that I like the appearance virtually NOTHING as delivered from the OEMs. There's just a certain amount of camel-tude in all cars these days. Y'all know what a camel is, right?
Ignore the "tagger on acid" graphics and the Super-Pumpkin paint, and substitute a carbon fiber genuine Subaru Technica Internationale rear wing for that gigantic super-sized piece on the back, and you have a general idea of what I'm thinking. And yes, that IS a 2006 Subaru WRX, not a GDB...

One of my (attractive) female friends was looking over my shoulder as I read this. She proclaimed about every car in here to be "god-awful ugly." That's all I need to know.

Well, the vantage from behind the steering wheel is my primary concern too... I'll let you know what I think of that after I drive one. BTW-I also think the suspension of the RX-8 is too soft stock... I'm sure I'll think the same about the garden-variety WRX.
