Did you notice how violent the c6 was on the touge? The camera could barely stay focused from all the bumping and vibration. The elise by comparison was silky smooth.

That episode also surprised me alot due to the disappointment of the MX-5. That thing was crazy twitcy all over the place. I didn't think they'd like the old model better, but they sure seemed to reach that conclusion.

Btw the previous episode is the one with all the 8/7 rotary loving. I was just posting this for Ike, as its got alot of comparison with the new STi.

Not sure why you think that, IIRC that RX-7 is slower (high 9s?), is a very expensive swap (4 rotor), and has a dedicated drag tranny.
