my feelings exactly. I enjoy having a turbo 8 that looks good. Anyway, like Darth said, let's just move on. Enjoy the Subie man and happy driving.

Hey Krazed_Rx8, why don't you shut your non painted bumper *** up? Take your bullshit flaming elsewhere. There is no need for a noob (yes even though you have been here over a year you are still a noob) talking ****. If you don't like his review or opinions then just move on to another thread. Your not offering anything informative here so STFU.

Is it that time of the month for you? As stated before, I'll say what I want to say about his econobox. You got a problem w/ that? Lets see you shut me up. Till then you and your comments mean nothing but jack **** to me. Defend the OP all you want, what I stated were facts. Yes his car is faster and all that bullshit but why continue to troll instead of moving onto his forum? I'll wait for your witty remark.

ReZ-8,

Thanks for dropping back in and giving your perspective on things. I love all things fast and cars like the STI keep cool cars in the market. Every car has its strengths and weaknesses, and its up sides and down sides.

A lot of idiots tend to yap about what this car can do, and what that car can do when in reality they have never been on a track or pushed their car to the limit in any situation. I have seen pretty much stock Miata's rip up Z06's. So talking about what a car can do doesn't mean **** if you are not talented enough to drive the car the way it was intended.

But there will always be **** talking idiot's who only show their ignorance through theirs posts and unfortunately every board has them. There are plenty of solid members here who don't drive 8's anymore and most of them are now drivings cars that are way more potent cars than their RX-8's in every way.

Have a good life man and enjoy your ride. Your welcome back anytime.

Your mom was full of fail. Then she had you, now you fail all on your own.

End Thread.

Come on people, lets stop all of this arguing nonsense.

We all bought our cars for our own reasons and I'm fairly certain most of us here are particularly happy with our purchases as the op is to his STI.

No need to go apesh*t crazy over a simple review. He has his own opinions as do the rest of you. And at the end of the day they are just still opinions.

That is what bothers me, if you are happy with your STI go talk on their forums. Why come here and state a few things that say why or how an STI is better and that the RX-8 has no ***** for it's enlarged *****?

Well true that there was some negativity coming out that was directed towards the 8. But even so, his review was an honest review. I mean sure, the STI has its advantages in various areas over the 8, but I love my 8 and I could care less to what people think or say about it with comparisons and so forth. In the end, the only thing that matters is that I cherish my 8, and nothing will change that.

Some closing words...

So there you have it folks,

Who knows, in a few years, maybe i'll be driving a Porsche of whatever and review the 911 on nasioc and give the fanbois a run for their money...

I think this thread ended well, but very rough as expected. I have my part of blame, my first post was ballsy, pun intended.

I loved my rx-8 and i will remember it all my life. I chose it because it had a good price, nice shiny red quality paint, suicide doors, sporty, balanced, 6spd RWD Rotary, nice stereo, leather, awesome handling, a gearbox made in heaven and exclusivity.

So to those who gave respect, earn mine. Farewell. and tell mazda to put a snail in dat sum bich.

until next time

Props on the STI though... sometimes ppl just want something different, I know I would after a couple years with a car.
Good luck.

a tune-up is oil change, plugs, filters.... I really think you ned to change those before the 250000miles mark. IMO
....

mine died before 60K miles mark. but I know the reason of the death ---- Mazda's crappy tune + underestimate the lubrication requirements of the engine.

When I said tune up I was talking about major ones like rebuilds. sorry for the misunderstanding.

but anyway, yes a 13B-EGI can go 250K without any rebuilds. NA engine.

and Im pretty sure this new Rebuild I got can go at least 200K but its gonna be a while before I hit that mark -_-

Actually, ring lands are the problems, not the gaskets.
+1

Well, just like anything, push it too far and it fails. Boxer engines fail (new models, anyway) due to a bad tune from the manufacturer... Long story short, subaru gives it's STIs a "poor" tune to pass emissions and be able to sell cars on the american continent. Mine ran for 10000miles on stock tune without issues, then i went stage two. It was like adding a turbo to a non turbo'd car. Impressive viciousness. I got mine tuned at 19psi (it's 14 from the factory), as per tuner recommendations. My injectors are 99% maxed.... Anyways, alot of people cut corners while doing mods, i do the opposite; i go the extra mile to make sure everything is in perfect control.
running it at 99% is not a good idea ----- but if you got a different tune then I guess its alright.

My dealer has no problems with the mods, wink wink. I told him before I got the sti and no regrets. He actually recommended the tuner i did business with.
I hate dealership bitching about mods, I mean I understand their positions, there is no reason for them (or Mazda) gotta pay for stupid people's mistake. but sometimes its easy to tell if the owner is a moron or smart guy. I guess its better for most dealerships to say "NO" than "see if this guy is an idiot first b4 working"

The Rx-8 has better handling, hands down!!
+1

This stuff is just awesome. Everyone one here is getting all butt hurt over this guy's review. I think it was fair and he pointed out the Pros and Cons of BOTH cars. This wasn't some exclusive RX-8 bashing thread...

You guys are really too sensitive. Yes, the STi is faster than the RX-8. Yes the STi is an econobox with a hot rod engine. Are we done now?
