Here is my 2000 ZX-12R. This is my first bike that I have owned since I was 15 (before I could even get a learners permit). Yes, a 1200 is a monster, but only when you are hard on the gas. It is quietish with the Yoshi that is on it, and has torque for days. Unlike the 600 guys that are always downshifting to pass cars, I can roll on the gas in 6th and pass without ever hardly cracking the throttle. It also cruises down the road at the same RPM's as our cars and I average around 44mpg.
yea was always getting brake dust on them, but easy design to clean..i would clean the bike every week or two anyway just with spray detailer an a terry cloth took me 10 mins to wipe all the bugs off fairings & a quick wipe over the rims. Use the Bel Ray super clean chain lube that doesn't fling off..
I have an old police bike. KZ1000P to be precise. I don't have any pictures. I love it because of the gas mileage, reduced insurance costs (go figure) and when people see it in their mirrors they get the hell out of the way and drive carefully.
Figure I'll bring this one back. This is my 2003 Honda CBR600RR, her name is Sally. I got her in December 2013. She came with a Competition Werkes fender eliminator and a Micron slip-on. The bike was originally sold in Maine so the stock exhaust is cat-free :D
I ditched the mirrors and got block off plates, Vortex rearsets (currently in GP Shift), a brake lever guard, and I've been through a few Dunlops Q3s.
I love this bike, but I feel like a third-gen R6 is the bike for me. I'm 6'3" and the 600RR is just a little too tight for me. The R6 feels more like a liter bike dimensionally, and I liked that. But, I am very happy with the power 600s make. Great track tools!
Figure I'll bring this one back from the dead again. I'be been talking myself into and out of picking up a Yamaha FZ-07 for the past few months now. I really really want one, I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. I've never owned a bike, but of all the bikes I've sat on, the FZ-07 felt the best- very light and very short guy friendly. I'm also a fan of the styling and the price is attractive. I feel like it would be the perfect beginner bike.

I really really want one, I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. I've never owned a bike, but of all the bikes I've sat on, the FZ-07 felt the best- very light and very short guy friendly. I'm also a fan of the styling and the price is attractive. I feel like it would be the perfect beginner bike.
The FZ is a very nice bike. It's going to blow your mind how much faster it is than your car, but it still isn't too fast for a bike. Don't get me wrong though, it's no slouch. I've never ridden once personally but a buddy of mine has one and loves it. It's a great compromise between something comfy and sporty. Take the MSF course if you've never ridden a bike. In all honesty, many people could start on a liter bike. It's just that you have that much more power you're responsible for. I learned to ride on my 600 and sans a few get-offs, I'm still alright It's the rider, not the ride. Be careful and respect the bike and you'll be just fine. Also, pick up some good gear if you're going to pull the trigger. A full kit (helmet, jacket, gloves, kevlar jeans, boots) will set you back at least a grand, so factor that into your purchase price. It's a lot at first but a grand now is a lot better than a $5K skin graph, or worse. **** happens, moreso on a bike than in a car.

In other bike news, I sold my 600RR on Tuesday and picked up a 2006 Triumph Daytona 675 yesterday. Her name is Emma
She has a few issues I need to figure out, but I would say it was a come up. I took what I got for my 600RR (that was three years older with 9K more miles than this) and turned around and picked this up. It's got a quirky inline 3-cylinder, which makes a nice, linear, smooth power curve, very similar to my 8's.
Nice! I love the styling and engineering of Triumph's bikes, I just wish they made something I fit on. Seats are always too high for me.
Yes the seat is quite high off the ground. The rider triangle isn't too far from the 600RR's, just a little spacier. I'm 6'3" though, so my legs are still bent while my feet are flat on the ground.
I emailed a guy in China this pic, asked him to make me fairings to match the photo.
