Just recently got back on 2 wheels. Picked up an '08 FZ-6 (Cobalt Blue). Already had Leo Vince pipes, Puig screen, Rizoma grips, ASV handles, sliders when I bought it.

Prev bikes - '89 Suzuki GS500e, '96 Yamaha Seca II (That one tankslapped me off the bike the one ride I wasn't wearing gear... DOH!... ATGATT now...)

Just ordered these : http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/t...f-street-boots

No more broken ankles for me, thx!

hey mysql101, how tall are you if you don't mind me askin? I'm about 6'6" 225lbs and I've been considering either a busa or a zx14 for quite some time now. I mainly just commute to work on my bike (40 miles one way) so I'm considering a larger bike. Just curious as to how comfortable it is.

the busa should be ok for you... the seat is actually a few inches lower than the SV. it's comfortable, the fairings and frame wrap around me, feel intertwined with it when riding.

i consider it a sport tourer more than a sport bike. It's great on the highway.

only 32 mpg tho.

I 'm 6'2" and @ 210 and I'm quite comfortable on my '08 Busa for long trips . I've had it 2 years and have 16k on odo . My previous bike was an '03 Busa and that was just as comfortable (put 14k on that one in 2 years). Depending on how hard I am on the throttle I can average 40-45 mpg when I have to . FYI removing the fairings on the Gen1 'Busa is ALOT easier than on the Gen2 'Busa . I'd post pics but I don't have any decent ones .

DAMN. i barely get 32 mpg on my fz6r... maybe i cruise in 4th too much??? i think i leave it there so i can still get some pull if needed- usually am at the 5k/6k rpm band. but, maybe that's too high?

what rpm & gear do u guys cruise in normally for better MPG?

^^ thats a pretty obvious question isnt it?

6th is the best cruising gear, as long as your not going so slow that the bike is beating itself to keep going then thats the best mpg gear. the lower the RPM's the better the gas is.

Anyways, Just bought it last week. I owned a 2008 ninja 250r for a year before it, but very quickly wanted to upgrade, although it was a great reliable liitle bike and got amazing gas mileage.

my new baby, 2007 GSXR 600. Full TI yoshimura exhuast with carbon fiber can. fender eliminator, bar end mirrors. Flush turn signals. Could have gone 750 but 600 was plenty for me, and I got it for a great price.

And my girlfriend. This was in the midst of a 45 mile joy ride, the weather was so nice yesterday!!

^ nice! i'm also looking at picking up an 09 R6 soon- depending on the price. (dealer's been really slow getting back to me on availability.)

hope u guys remember to always wear both full upper & full lower body protection- even on the street.

ride safely

The nice thing about a 'Busa is that big engine means power everywhere . You don't have to wind it out to get the power . As for rpm and gear to cruise . I just go by what feels right . Besides, above 5k rpm the Hayabusa is an unholy terror hellbent on evil deeds . Not that that's a bad thing mind you .

Cool A Tale of Two R Blues...

Finally! =)

There's an interesting story behind how I managed to acquire the new 2010 R6 too... I'll update the post info when I get a chance.

But, for now all I can says is that it's been a long, grueling weekend. But, I'm really happy with this purchase.

Better to be safe in crazy California.

just had my bike dyno tuned today. I was hoping for bigger numbers, but I'll take what I can get. It's very smooth now.

Don't get a Ninja 250 Whatever you do.
That's a bitch bike. ( i had 1 ) was rebuilding it had it for 3 months.

If you can't learn on a 600 then you don't belong on a bike.
i have never owned a 600.

Only 750's

2009 Gixxer 750
and a Bad *** 2005 Kawasaki Z750's ( import ) with everything done to it
Power commander, full exhaust, ivan's reeds, z1000 forks, carbon fiber rear sets etc.

600's are slow!

i havew owned numerous bikes.

Ninja 250
GSXR 750
Drz-400s ( dual sport )
Z750's
NightHawk 750

and more.

and for the haters here are some pics

Kawasaki Z750

GSXR 750

Nighthawk 750

KX 250 ( 2-Stroke )

Ninja 250

DRZ-400s

Have owned 3 more Kawasaki's including a Z1000

They don't call me Kawi Guy for no reason

Pfft... Even the RX-8 makes more power than that.

Maybe! Maybe not. Depends on how the dynojet was calibrated and what kind of RX-8...

Here's an old pic, havent taken any new ones since the night it was delivered. It is no longer clean or pretty. Lots of dirt and scratches on the crash bars. Much happier with this bike than I would have been with a street oriented bike. Goes anywhere you're brave enough to take it, gets 55-60mpg even when whipping it, it's meant to be dropped and stay dirty, and like any thumper - it sounds like ****

And for all you sport bike guys, here's my boss's newest toy(in a string of 7's, 8's, GTRs, R6, GSXR, etc...) Ducati 848EVO. this was a VERY fast bike before he started toying with it.
