SCC article featuring RX-8

I picked up a copy of SCC magazine and it looks like they've finally put together their annual list of best performing cars for under $30K USD. The obvious choices...RX-8, 350Z, SRT-4, Evo RS and WRX...made the list again. There were however some interesting additions to the 2005 list.

SCC already has a Scion TC shop car so, although I'm not in total agreement with that pick, I wasn't at all surprised by it. There were a couple choices and a couple omissions that had me scratching my head though. How does the Nissan Spec V list make the list over the Ion Redline or Cobalt SS? I've owned an '02 Spec V and have driven the Ion Redline (which is less powerfull than it's Cobalt cousin) and there is no comparison. Everything the Spec V does well the Cobalt/Ion does better...handling, accleration, interior quality, stereo, ergonomics, etc. One thing I don't like about SCC is they tend to be biased towards imports and this article is a great example of it. Where's the new Mustang? The GT version starts at $27k.

Anyways I'm sure there are some other cars I'm forgetting, but this is just another reason I refuse to get a subscription to SCC.
