thats how roadsters back is supposed to look, check out ferrari roadsters. Itd be sick if they do put a detuned LS2 in this thing. It might fit considering its a pushrod and roughly the same size as a VQ35. SkY is bigger than I thought its going to be.

With an LS2 the Sky would just be a convertible Vette with a different look. Weight would be the same too. I don't see the point.

I want to see how well this car holds up. My roommate in college had a Saturn and it was a piece of crap.

I'd rather have the Miata or S2000

From what I understand, the Sky and Solstice is probably closer to the Opel than the Opel is to the Elise.

The pontiac solstice is advertised as a 2006 on the pontiac website, and the solstice forums are talking about it coming out the first week of august. Why wait for the saturn...

No, but rumor has it that it will be for MY07. Also this is from the article you posted.

"At first glance, the Speedster looks like a reskinned Elise. Not the case: Surprisingly, it shares only 140 (of 2000) parts in common with its progenitor."

I think just the oposite. The solstice is just about the ugliest car I have ever seen. However I kind of like the looks of the Saturn Sky. The question however, is how well will it hold up? My wife's last Saturn blew the tranny after only 30,000 then the engine followed 5,000 later. That was under very little abuse to.

yeah, that's the other thing. it's a saturn. hey, ya never know...it may be a great car but saturn doesn't necessarily have the rep. all of my friends that had em reported that they were all a POS.

as far as the visuals, we all have different tastes. however we all seem to like rx-8s...

because while the saturn is ugly (the front is poorly proportioned...the back is nice...but overall build is CHEAP looking)

" Alex Trebec thinks: What is..., crap?" (taken from the other forum)

the Solstice is far worse in looks...the front in person...is just aweful, what were they thinking!

I like the looks of the car. I just can't see these things holding up. I haven't seen a whole lot of Saturns that look or sound too good after a few years on the road. Is it the owners fault? Maybe. Is it the build quality? Maybe. I've probably become a bit biased towards domestics as I have always had problems with them. The imports I've owned seem to be much better built vehicles. I guess time will tell with the Sky/Solstice.

Theoretically the same power as the new Miata, but a bit heavier. I'd pick the Sky over the Solstice, however.
