What about a Mazdaspeed 6? Competition for the Legacy GT, maybe a bit more sporty... AWD... Lookswise... I lean more towards the Legacy I think. That rear view ain't so hot on the MS6... The profile is ok... the hatchback version looked better.

 

Mazdaspeed 6 sounds interrested except it is significantly heavier than the LGT and the AWD system is FWD biased. It should still be a nice car tho
Any other suggestions besides the 2 Ive mentioned and the couple others have suggested??

I think a better competitor to the Legacy Gt is the Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart. It's got 260 hp although not awd or forced it is lighter and maybe sportier.

 

I think the Mazdaspeed 6 is faster than Mazda claims. I think Mazda is lying regarding the specs because they know RX8 owners wouldn't be too happy to find out just how much quicker the MS 6 is compared to the 8. I've seen 0-60 times quoted from the factory as 6.6, 6.1, 5.5. It will be interesting to see just how quick they are when the arrive. I think they will be close to evo territory. probably low 5s and and high 13s.

 

one problem that the MS6 has .... it's a little thing called weight. IIRC it is in the neighbourhood of 3600lbs! that's almost 600lbs more than the RX-8! Meh, it looks like a beeched whale to me thanks to the bulbous hood.
